Computer Whiz I am Not!
Being a computer whiz means you get to have all sorts of fun little gadgets like a KVM switch to move computers safely....in your possession. Luckily I'm not one of them because I would probably drive myself insane for having too many what the hell is this or that gadgets in my house. One computer is good enough for me, thank you very much! How many computers do you have in your home? Do you actually use all of them or are they just lying around, just in case?
I have two computers, my work laptop and my home system. I used to have 3, 2 at work and one at home. Since I work from home now, I only have need (and room) for two.
ReplyDeleteI used to have this funky setup at work using Synergy, where I would use the network itself to connect both work systems, allowing me to use one mouse for 3 monitors across 2 different systems. It was OK, but would fail whenever we had a network outage (which was often). That is where the advantage of a hardware KVM comes into play.
We have 3 computers, 2 laptops and 1 desktop... They are probably over utilized (if that's at all possible). We do have one really old one that we don't use... it was a present from my husband (then boyfriend) some time ago and I guess we just keep it for sentimental reasons.

I think we're doing good with just my laptop for now. Not that my husband really uses my laptop. I think he's afraid it will crash on him with as many problems as I have had with it.lol
