I have to muster up and ask anyone out there who may know, why would you need document scanning software? How does that work? And really, what are the added benefits if you already have a scanner/printer/etc. like I do. The only purpose I can see it for is if you only have a scanner and need something to scan a document with. But to my knowledge, most printers are a combination of scanning, faxing, etc., nowadays, and reasonably priced, so unless you're still stuck in the stone age, what's the point?
Will someone please explain!!!! Thank You!!! :)

Access Denied, Bits and Pieces from a Story I'm Working On
She needed the scanning software to access the files. It was the only way she could get to her brother in time. But, she already knew it wasn't going to be as easy as them just giving it to her or even letting her borrow it.
The files she needed were not accessible by the public. They were the human implantation files that kept a brain from acting on thoughts once the file was implanted into the stem of the brain.
They were the files that kept the lowest of the lowest, baddest of the baddest, worst of the worst, under control. The insane, the serialists, the criminals, like her brother to keep him from killing his next victim, from getting to her before she could get to him.
