During the Winter

It's very rare that I use anything on my face in the summer months other than sun screen. but, when the winter months arrive, my skin gets really dry and my face is no exception, so I'm constantly applying a face cream to my face.

And unfortunately, because my skin is so dry, I've probably tried just about every facial cream there is on the market, that's of course reasonably priced. No matter how dry my skin gets, I just can't see paying more than $10 for any moisturizer, no matter how great they claim to be.

But, I have been known to shop the clearance section of our local drugstore for products they no longer have room for on the shelve. I've gotten some pretty pricey face creams, moisturizers, shampoos and conditioners for less than $10! How insane is that???

Beauty Schmeauty

I've never really noticed that I have wrinkles around my eyes, therefore I never really thought I needed an eye wrinkle cream. And to be quite honest, I still don't. People who talk to me all of the time believe I am only 30, when *GASPS* I'm actually 35.

My mother actually had the same experience and even took hers as far as getting into movie theaters for a kids price when she was well into her teens.lol

So what do I do to look five years younger than I actually am? Not much, to again be honest. I slather on a moisturizer when I need it and make sure my face is clean on a daily basis, but that's about it. I don't fuss with eye creams or serums or other special beauty treatments. However, I have dabbled in anti-aging products in the past, but that's about it for me.

I keep things simple and don't deal with the out of control beauty routine. It's time consuming and isn't always worth the time or money!

Think All Natural

An organic face cream may seem like a better choice where the environment is concern, but just because a beauty product or any product for that matter contains organic ingredients certainly doesn't mean they're made from mother nature, let alone good for you.

All it really means is that it's free from pesticides. I mean seriously, have you taken a really good look at that product's ingredients? I've actually seen products claiming to be organic, yet in the ingredient label listed unnatural ingredients and even man-made chemicals.

And sadly, it's perfectly legal for a company to do so. So the next time you pick up that beauty cream and think it's good for you, think again and think all natural!

Beauty is in the Eye

Can you believe that prototype 37c is actually an eye cream? To be exact, it's suppose to help with wrinkles, but at what price?

Here we are worrying about how we're going to pay our next utility bill, when we've just spent our last hard earned dollar on beauty products that we're helping will make us look beautiful. Okay, so maybe not all of us are willing to choose beauty over electricity, but there are a few out there, I'm sure of it.

You would think by now we women and a few men, would learn that beauty is on the inside. If a man cannot except the way you look without all the goop and gunk, then is he really worth it. I mean if he's going to wake up screaming at your no makeup look the next morning, maybe it's time you rethink your relationship and forget the idea of looking young forever.

We have enough plastic barbie dolls in this world, we certainly don't need them living and breathing as well!

My Face Has Not Changed

I'm a sucker for trying to erase the hands of time when it comes to skin care. I'm constantly buying different products to try to see what works and what doesn't. I do have a budget that I still with however and I don't believe any skin care product is worth paying hundreds of dollars for.

What I have found however is that every wrinkle cream review I have done has turned up to be nothing extraordinary. In fact, I have yet to meet a wrinkle product that has worked for me. Maybe someday, but for now I'll just keep using my moisturizers which seems to help a little.

The Woman in the Mirror

She applied the face cream with a gentle touch and stared back at the woman in the mirror. It would be a long time before a man ever loved that face again. If he ever could. She let out a deep sigh and placed the lid on the container of cream.

At least the fire hadn't destroyed her completely and the child had been okay. The child was what really mattered. He'd been playing in an abandoned building when she got the call on her radio. She'd been the first at the scene and when she'd heard the child screaming for help, she knew she couldn't wait for the firetrucks to arrive.

She'd entered the building without hesitation, without a second thought and found the child huddled in the corner, surrounded by a thick blanket of smoke. She'd seen the orange blaze of the fire nearby, but had never noticed the beam above her until it was too late. By the time the beam had come crashing down she'd glanced up just as the fire seared into her face. But at least she'd gotten the child out and that was all that mattered.

Now as she looked back at the woman in the mirror once more she saw a slight smile and gasped. The scars that had bared its markings across her face were slowly fading before her eyes. The lips that were once a partial hideous scar were beautiful and smooth. It was as if that fire had never touched her face. How could this be she wondered? How?

She touched her face knowing full damn well someone had to be playing a cruel joke on her. This simply was not possible. But just as the woman in the mirror had looked, her face showed no signs of ever being burned by a fire.

What had she done to change her destiny. She hadn't done anything out of the ordinary. She went to the flea market and had purchased the beauty cream from the old lady. She hadn't meant to really, but she needed to get out of the apartment and her love for flea markets seemed like the best thing.

But then when she saw the elderly lady smiling a gentle smile as she walked past her booth she decided to stop. It was strange because she'd walked past every booth but hers, afraid that someone would stare at her or jump back in fear. But the elderly lady had the kindest eyes and seemed sweet, so she'd stopped and browsed at her beauty products.

"You have such a lovely face, dear. Why don't you try this one." The old lady had picked up the jar of beauty cream and offered it to her. "I don't think so. I don't think I need it." She'd said to her. "Nonsense." So she'd purchased the jar just to please the old lady and brought it home.

And it was just then that she realized that she'd never really taken a good look at her purchase. God. For all she knew it could be some form of acid that could eat away her skin. She knocked that silly notion away from her mind and picked up the jar. It read, Miracle Cream. For the Hero Who Saved My Grandchild.

Raging Hormones

Today was just one of those days where I felt like ripping someone's head off. For example: Someone asked me how I was doing. I responded with an ehhh okay I guess and their response was laughing. The next thing I know, I'm thinking, "What the Fuck is Your Problem? Why are you laughing at the fact that I'm having a so-so day?" I guess it's a good thing I didn't say that outloud!

At first I wondered why I was in such a "BITE ME" mood, because that's not like me. Then I discovered later in the day, that it had to do with PMS.

It didn't used to be that way, but over the recent years my body has changed, so I guess my hormones have too. I've discovered that thru UltraPMS.com I can purchase a progesterone cream that relieves the symptoms of PMS. The best part about it is, it's all natural. I love anything that is all natural. I think it is the best way to go.

I also just noticed that it relieves the symptoms of menopause as well. I wonder if I am this bad now, will I be 10 times as worse when I go through menopause???

It's an interesting, yet scary thought!

To Ease the Pain

Lately I've been experiencing a lot of pain in my hand. It's cause is from work. During the daytime when I am moving around a lot, the pain is bearable, but at night or in the evening when I am winding down from the day, the pain gets to a point where I am ready to give in and head to the ER.

I can't however. Why? Well it's as simple as I cannot afford insurance. If I am hired on full-time with the job I have now, maybe. But for now, there is no insurance. So, why doesn't your husband put you on his, you might ask. Hmm well, at first he never seemed to have the time to put me on there. Now it's too late because his insurance has ran out.

So without insurance I'm stuck in a rut or as some would say, up the creek without a paddle. So what to do? Well, lately my only option as been muscle cream. I found one that I thought would work on my hand, but it doesn't help whatsoever.

So now I am back to square. What I fear is purchasing another muscle cream and finding out it won't work. After the holidays there may not be any insurance, so I may very well have to rely on a cream. Besides, I am not a fan of doctors or surgery, so right now I'd rather use an ointment to help with the pain.

I was looking at a product called Freeze It gel and wondering if it would help any better. It's meant for joint, arthritis and sore muscle pain. There are a few testimonials about the product which look promising, so I wonder if it would work for me.

What do you guys think?

Would Freeze It Gel be a good idea? Do you think it is worth a try? Heck the way my life is going right now it would be nice if one good thing would go my way. Maybe if I eliminate one problem or at least help with it, I might get a boost of positive energy and begin eliminate the rest of my problems in this thing we call life.

Ease my pain, see my kids again (The photo pictured to the above right includes: myself, my husband and our children), pay off all of my past debt, get a car to get to and from work, publish my novel, speak to others about low self-esteem and abuse, etc. These are just a few of my goals, dreams, etc that I am working towards.

A lot of big goals, I know. But no one can do them but me. At least maybe freeze it gel can help. Here's to wishful thinking!
