Beijing Arrest's Mother to Bulldoze Her Home For Olympics

Many of us love the Olympics and keep track of our favorite sports on a nightly basis, but what really goes on behind closed doors during the Olympics?

Reporter Richard Engel found out just what some countries will do to keep the Olympics going. A mother in Beijing had been forced to have her home bulldozed, so that the Olympics could make way for a street for Olympic visitors. In order to keep her home from being bulldozed she filed the necessary paperwork to stop it from happening. Then, she was promptly arrested for filing the paperwork and will remain in jail until the Olympics ends.

When Richard Engel and his crew asked questions, they were told she was not being held for filing the paperwork, only to find out that it was a lie. Don't believe me? Check out this video from Msnbc and then check out another reporter's scoop about the situation.

This just goes to show us what some governments will do to keep people quiet.

Placenta Eatin' MMM MMM Good.....

Nope, the subject of this post's title is not an error. There really ARE people who eat their own placentas after childbirth. And here I thought this was just a practice that only animals do. How the subject even came to light was because, several weeks ago my best friend was reading about interesting practices people do. She pointed out mom's eating their own placentas and then hooked me up with some links and suggested that I blog about it. I started the blog, but then things became really insane around here, so I ended up setting the post aside. Then, a few days ago one of our cats gave birth to kittens and then ate the placenta. Tonight our other cat gave birth to her kittens and did the same.

So now, here I am discussing the ritual of eating placenta. Apparently, eating placenta can help with postpartum depression and hemorrhage. Some websites are even offering recipes for cooking up placenta.

While it seems to be safe enough that a mother can eat her own placenta, it's not wise to eat someone else's placenta since there can be a high risk of disease such as HIV and Hepatitis.

And while eating placenta may not be uncommon in some households, it will most definitely be uncommon in mine!!!

One final and simply twisted thought....I bet Jeffrey Dahmer is smiling in his grave right now.. YUCK!!!

A Funny Little Thing Called Life

My father called just a few moments ago. He's decided to go to Oklahoma City for my son's surgery after all. It's funny that his reason now for not wanting to go prior, is that he wasn't sure he'd have the money to go.... because I wasn't sure of an exact time of the surgery. It's also the same reason my mother did not want to go. Now it gets even more interesting, simply because... I was paying for the trip to and from OKC and he knows that.

I'm really debating whether to trust him on his word again. There is a big what if running through my head right now. Like, What If he backs out once again and this time at the very last minute? I think I will continue to look for a back up ride, or some form of transportation, just in case.

So this may very well be a big rock lifted off of my shoulder. I certainly hope so because if my father backs out once again, the Bitch in me will come out! Funny however... because I can't see my mother wanting to get up at 230am to go to OKC. I know her well enough to know that she is going to put up a fight with my father about it. Sigh.

After this trip to OKC I am saving back the paychecks to purchase a car that I can drive. No... If and Or Buts about it!
