Hey What the Heck! Someone Moved to Independence, Kansas!

Just yesterday there was a moving truck delivering a family's life on the lawn of some apartment buildings not far from where I live. It's the first family I've seen moving in to Independence, Kansas in a very long time, so I was a little surprised and forgiving that the truck was taking up most of the road.

Usually, families are moving out of town to a better place, better job, without warning. No Moving Announcements, no letting their friends and family or neighbors (okay so maybe we're not all friendly) know that they've gone until it's either too late or someone through the grapevine has spread the word faster than driving through one of those blink and you miss it towns.Well, can't say that I blame them. We are after all just a quiet little town where sometimes celebrities secretly roam.

More Old School Stuff

He was gone, somewhere inside of the underground club and she didn’t even know why. The one man who loved her, who she loved and he was gone. Allie frowned as she got out of the car. She wasn't about to just let him walk out of her life.

The place looked deserted from the distance, but people ducked in and out of the warehouse as Allie approached it. Allie slipped inside the crowded building and wondered why there were stacks of moving boxes all over the place.

There were people dancing on the upper level while others sat in booths watching and she suddenly realized she had no idea where to look for him.

“Alley Cat isn’t it?” A deep voice asked. Allie cringed at those words as a tall dark blond suddenly stood face to face with her turned to face a tall dark blond who was trying to hand her a drink.

“No thank you.” She said pushing the glass away.

“Oh come on I don’t bite.” He laughed pushing the drink her way again.

“I’m sorry. No.” She said this time with a little more anger in her voice.

“So Andy wasn't lying when he said you were a bitch.” The man laughed. Allie cringed and tried to walk past him.

"I don't think so." He said stepping in front of her.

Cutting Costs Everywhere

I honestly don't know if it will come down to it, but with all of the lay offs and lack of jobs in this area, we may be forced to move. It's something that we've talked about recently.

I guess we'll know more in the next month or so. I just wonder if we'll need to hire someone to move our stuff. I doubt we will need to hire any moving companies, but it's a thought because we have a lot of stuff even though it doesn't seem like it.

Actually when we bought this house, it really only took the husband's truck to move everything, so maybe we won't. That's probably a good thing because of the rising costs of almost everything around us. It's a sad shame because I know that everyone needs the money, but then it all boils down to who can afford to spend the money?

Moving Negativity

This weekend has been very interesting. What started as a supposed to be move, has now become a wait until later move. It's a waiting game and the more we wait, the more anxious I become and the more negative my husband becomes.

It's gotten to the point that there is nothing here. In order for us to enjoy life and not just barely scrape by, we have to have a job that requires more than minimum wage per an hour and with all of the recent layoffs, that's just not going to happen here.

So it's very frustrating to be waiting for a job that now may not be available. Now I have to sit and wonder. What happens if we don't get the job. Where do we go from here? We've already sold off almost everything we own. What do we do. Where do we go from here.
