Organization, Baby! Organization!

A few weeks ago I was in a bookstore browsing books when I came across the book, Organizing Do-it-Yourself For Dummies. Now I'm a sucker for books and my first thought was, ohh you have to have this!

But then, I'm also a tightwad in a sense and the moment I looked at the price, I decided I was better off without it.

I'll be honest though, that book still sits in the back of my mind because today I decided to do some major cleaning and organization and my first victim happens to be my desk area and believe me it's a mess as you can see from the photo I took! It's no wonder I can never get in the mood to work on my novel!

So I'm off to clean and I will post an after photo here in this blog post when I'm done!

What area in your home needs a decluttering makeover?

Throwing it All Out

Lately I've been trying to clear the clutter from this house. Everywhere I turn it seems we have so much stuff, despite the little furniture that we have. Today I was cleaning through my desk, throwing out stuff when I caught myself keeping extra calendars that I don't need. Sure they're cool calendars like the one that was sent to me from Harlequin's Romance Novels, but what's really the point of keeping the calendar?

I think once all of this stuff is said, done and gone I'll feel a lot better in my life. Now if I can just get the other half to see eye to eye.

Organzing Work and Appointments

Looks like today is going to be a really busy day. Not only am I backed up with work, but I am also scheduling dentist appointments, posting promised reviews and making a list of tomorrow's work.

Sometimes I wish I had an easier way of keeping track of everything. I love schedules when it comes to daily work and appointments. I've been using Works Calendar program since I can plug in my work and appointments with ease. But for me it's just not enough. So I am on the hunt for a better program (free) that will allow me to keep track of everything and notify me when things are due. Ideas, anyone?

I know that Microsoft Calendar can do that, but it's not really all that customizable. I like backgrounds and those nifty little gadgets that can make work and things a little easier. Yep. I am rambling! Time for me to get back to work!

Getting Your Work Done with Jane May and John Chow

If you wander on over to John Chow's website, you will find a blog titled, "Maximize Your Daily Efficiency." There, guest blogger Jane May blogs about how to get more done by organizing your time more efficiently. She has nothing but very good ideas for getting your work done. So good actually, that it opened my eyes. So now I am posting her post on my computer, as a reminder of what I need to be doing. Rather than blogging as I am now. HA! So kuddos to the both of you and May Jane and John Chow, keep right on blogging!
