Organization, Baby! Organization!

A few weeks ago I was in a bookstore browsing books when I came across the book, Organizing Do-it-Yourself For Dummies. Now I'm a sucker for books and my first thought was, ohh you have to have this!

But then, I'm also a tightwad in a sense and the moment I looked at the price, I decided I was better off without it.

I'll be honest though, that book still sits in the back of my mind because today I decided to do some major cleaning and organization and my first victim happens to be my desk area and believe me it's a mess as you can see from the photo I took! It's no wonder I can never get in the mood to work on my novel!

So I'm off to clean and I will post an after photo here in this blog post when I'm done!

What area in your home needs a decluttering makeover?

Yeah, I Could Use a New Life

To understand what Ive gone through in the past couple of years is a long story. A very long story, but one that can be told. And in doing so, I decided to enter the $10,000 makeover contest that myfillosophy.com is sponsoring.

Several years ago I was visiting my cousin with my best friend. I love photos of my family, so I took advantage of the situation and had my best friend snap a photo of me and my cousin. When I got the photo results, I was in shock. The picture showed me as old. Very old. I looked worn out and about 10 years older than I really was. It was right around the time I had separated from my abusive ex-husband. So yeah, the stress was not only killing me physically, it was killing my skin as well.

So, as I said, I entered the Makeover contest. You see, that photo was the beginning of what would happen next. Has it stopped? No. It's gotten worse. What little you see on my blog is only a fraction of what my life has come to. I hope it will end eventually. My health depends on it. What my family does not understand, my health is at risk. Stress is real and it can kill. How do you explain that to people who simply refuse to listen? How?

Jenessa (Boey) and Extreme Home Makeover Edition

I have always been a big fan of the television show Extreme Home Makeover Edition. Not only does Extreme Home Makeover Edition show some fabulous work by the design team, they also give that time and hard work to a family who is in need of that new home. Awesome work and an awesome cause!

This week's show was about the Byers family from Corvallis, Oregon. Their 8 year old daughter Jenessa (known as Boey to her family) had been battling cancer since 2006, and just when they thought she was getting better, the cancer came back. But even while she was battling cancer, Jenessa would go to other cancer stricken children in the hospital and deliver stuffed animals she had bought with her allowance. She was known as an inspiration and wanted to put a smile on other children's faces, even when she was in pain herself. She even went as far as starting a blog.

Generally Extreme Home Makeover Edition's shows end in happiness. Sadly on December 28th, 2007, Jenessa passed away due to pneumonia.

I am not a big fan in the belief of god. However, Jenessa was a believer and I believe even now, she is caring for the children who have passed away from illness, just as she did in life.

It just goes to show us that without the strength of our children, there is no hope for this world. Jenessa is hope as well as our own children who have the strength to survive in this insane world.

I may not physically know Jenessa, yet she will always be remembered.

"Thank You Jenessa Nicole (Boey) Byers for inspiring us all."

Lowlights, facial brighteners, ohhh my!!!!!!!

Okay,

So my recent article research has been on lowlights. So far it's interesting reading since it was something I wasn't very familiar with. It will definitely be an interesting article to write about.

Lately, most of the articles I right, I've been checking out the
ideas for myself. One I did a while back was about facial brighteners. Well, after writing the article I decided I wanted to try them, so when my fiance and I ventured out to our local wal-mart I decided to hunt them down. End the end my fiance even got in on the search.lol Turns out wal-mart doesn't carry the stuff, so it looks like if I really want to purchase a facial brightener I'll be looking for it elsewhere.

Now that I am writing an article on lowlights, I am seriously considering having those done. I was talking to a friend who has lowlights and she left me with a positive note, so who knows!
