Ending the Game
He scanned the monitors then smiled. There were three of them in the kitchen. This was almost too easy, yet almost a disappointment. He enjoyed the thrill of the game, the thrill of the hunt. But he was beginning to worry about this taxi cab driver that he knew nothing about. There were way too many what ifs, more than what he was willing to risk in order to satisfy that thrill. It was time to end this game.

The Killer
In one moment she'd seen the boots move and the next he was pulling her behind her and lifting something in his left hand. Something shiny. A knife? Where had he'd gotten a knife? When had he had time to find one. She panicked. She'd been wrong after all. He was the killer!

Slowly Moving
Most people kept some sort of utensils out on their kitchen cabinets. A knife or something. Maybe if she went around the other way she could find one and use it as a weapon.
Or better thought, maybe they would have some heavy canned goods she could use to throw at the owner of the boots right there in the pantry. She pushed past the cab driver and rummaged through a shelf that contained boxes of food, but to her disappointment, no canned goods. Then she felt him grab her arm and when she turned to face him, he'd lowered his head close enough she could feel his breath on her face. Oh god, he was actually going to kiss her.
He leaned in closer, but instead of feeling his lips on hers, he whispered, "You're making noise, look." She opened her eyes and saw that he was pointing to the boots. Boots that were now slowly moving out from behind the kitchen door.

Taking Her Chances
She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. If she lived to tell about this she was going to kick her best friend straight to the friendship curb. He should have taken her with him to Las Vegas. If she were in Las Vegas this wouldn't be happening now.
She opened her eyes, shifted her weight and pushed the cab driver away. If she didn't die from whoever was after them, she would no doubt die from being skin to skin with him. And she'd rather take her chances with the unknown killer.

Not Alone
Even if he wasn't a killer, someone was definitely after them and here she was staring up into his dark brown eyes as he looked down at her. Oh god, what if he kissed her. Would he kiss her. what would it be like if he did? She needed something to distract herself and as she averted her eyes away from him she noticed the rain boots behind the kitchen door. They hadn't been there before had they? She started to scream, but then his hand was there to cover her mouth.
He nodded to the boots, acknowledging what she'd seen. Damn! They were not alone!

Big, Big, Trouble
She stared at the back of the taxi cab's broad shoulders, shoulders she suddenly had the urge to touch, and started to wonder if she'd been mistaken. Only moments ago they'd been hiding in the bathroom until he'd heard a crash from down the hall and now here he was putting himself in harm's way to protect her as they hid in the kitchen pantry.
It wasn't like a killer to protect anyone, let alone a stranger, was it? could she be wrong? Oh god, she hoped so. She couldn't keep her eyes off of this man. Something was definitely wrong with her and as soon as he'd turned to face her, she knew she was in big, big trouble.

The Flowers Delivered in Philadelphia, PA
He'd even had flowers delivered in Philadelphia, PA where she worked. Damn, why the hell couldn't he get her off of his mind. Realizing that his thoughts had wandered away from his current problem, once again he blocked them out and made his way to the surveillance room. How in the hell were they all gone. He'd never had a chance to chain up the girl and her taxi driver, but he'd made sure the old woman and her husband were chained to the beds.
There was no way they could have broken the chains. He had the keys. No way! He found himself patting his jacket for reassurance, but panicked when his hand pressed against an empty pocket. The keys were gone.

Ever Again
He thought back again to the girl he'd thought loved him. He'd bought his Girlfriend Gifts, spent each evening taking her out to dinner then a movie. He missed those moments sometimes, but in a way he was glad she had showed her true feelings to him. Now he knew what women really thought of him. Now he knew the truth. Now he knew what women were truly capable of being. He knew that evil of women, and that evil had to be stopped. Even if it meant killing every woman in the world. And even if it meant killing anyone who got in his way. If it was a lasting he ever did he would make sure no woman ever laughed at him again.

Chained Up
He turned down the hallway, opening doors along the way, hoping he could find them quickly. He should have gotten the dog. He'd purchased a pet bed, but never got the dog. He could have used the dog to sniff them out. Sometimes despite being powerful he realized, he was stupid.
He took a deep breath and made his way back to the hidden room. He needed to check the monitors to find them. The screams of the old woman filled the air. He let out a heavy sigh. Maybe it was time to shut her and her husband up. After all, they were getting to be very irritating and he certainly didn't need the distraction right now. He made a detour to the second bedroom where he had them chained up.

In Hiding
Then he realized something. The man had been dressed in rocawear jeans. Taxi cab drivers made very little money unless they held another job, which was rare in this city. Why would the cab driver he wearing those type of jeans. They weren't appropriate and certainly weren't cheap. He moved faster down the hall until he came to the doorway of the bathroom. There was no time to waste. He pushed open the door, ready to use his blades, only to find that the bathroom was empty. They were gone and he had been too busy worrying about this taxi cab driver to know exactly where they were now hiding.
A Serious Problem
He flipped through the velobind book again. He needed to know who the taxi cab driver was. If the girl hadn't been with the guy, it might be a problem and a big one. He didn't need anyone searching for loved ones who were missing. He didn't need the trouble. But, it was of course too late to just let him go. Still, he needed to know more about him. He found his name he'd written down from the ID and typed it into the search engine. Then, he waited for the results to reveal the man's information. The web page loaded and he stared the bold words. The name did not exist in the data base. Maybe he'd typed it in wrong. He tried again, but the results were the same. The name did not exist. This was a serious problem.
Jackpot
He had what he called a Playbook, filled with names of the girls that he'd decided were not worthy of any man. And any man that saw otherwise, well, as he'd done with the taxi driver, would be a part of his game!
He flipped through the book and typed the name of the girl who'd been with the taxi cab driver into the search box on the website. He needed to know everything about her before he could begin his game. He smiled as her information loaded into the search results. She had no boyfriend, no husband, no immediate family. And she was not working, which meant no employer would be searching for her. He'd hit the jackpot on this one.

Serious Trouble
In addition to the bathroom's cabinet, she noted that the walls were covered by a glass mosaic tile. Whoever owned this house, must have a lot of money, she decided. Maybe they were well-known in the area and someone would stop by to check on them. And if they did that, then maybe, just maybe, they could get out of here! Then again, maybe the owner had been killed already by whoever was holding them here. She swallowed the lump that had formed in her throat. Damn, damn, damn! She was in serious trouble.

Power
He had enough video surveillance around the house to make sure he knew exactly where his girls were at, at all times. And the cable covers helped disguise the fact that he was able to watch them. He liked being able to watch them. It was like watching a reality show without having to pay for it. He could see the girls were scared and he liked seeing them scared. It made him feel powerful. He loved having power.

In Lust For a Killer
There was a gold trimmed medicine cabinet across from her she realized as she slowly opened her eyes. Since when had her best-friend remodeled his bathroom.? She blinked, then she remembered. Someone was after her. Someone wanted her dead. It was that damn taxi cab driver. It had to have been. There was no other explanation. No one she knew wanted her dead. And the last thing she remembered was him lying on top of her as someone stood outside of the bathroom door. She also remembered how she felt when he'd covered his body with hers. Oh god, she was in lust for a killer.

Let Them Laugh. Let Them All Laugh.
He hadn't wanted to kill them all. Not originally anyway, but that girl, she wouldn't stop laughing even after he'd tried to impress her after trying natural male enhancement. She just never stopped laughing. Now they all snickered and laughed at him and their lovers were no better. They loved them, never him. Why couldn't they love him? He wouldn't need to kill them if they just loved him. But now it was too late for that. Let them laugh. Let them all laugh. They would regret it.

Beautiful Furniture Freak
He yanked off the chair slipcover in disgust. He hated it when they messed up his beautiful furniture. And now there was a spot of blood on his favorite chair. Why couldn't they just bleed somewhere else like the bathtub. His face brightened as he remembered the two lovers in the bathtub. He'd come across them by accident when he'd hailed a taxi cab.
And then by pure luck the taxi had gotten a flat tire in the pouring rain and the driver had been distracted enough for him to drug the girl and then the driver while he'd been changing the tire. Ohh this was going to be so much fun!

The Game
He'd already known the girl and her lover were hiding in the bathroom. He'd seen the door close and heard them breathing. But, he wasn't ready to kill them just yet. It'd be too easy and there would be no fun in his game. Instead, he wanted them to really hide and then he could seek them out.
He could even test his new rifle scope on them. It was going to be so much fun!

Revenge
He'd seen the movie, Speed and it reminded him of his own life in some way. They'd denied him his social security disability just like the character in the movie, only he hadn't chose to get his revenge by blowing up buildings. No.
He'd chosen to something far better. He'd chosen to play a game. play a game. To seek his revenge in the comfort of his own home, to play a game of hide and seek.

Just a Nightmare
The smell of dominican cigars drifted through the air and she suddenly wondered if she was in some sort of bad nightmare where parlor men filled the air with heavy smoke and shared secrets between one another.
But, her thoughts were interrupted when a voice whispered, "Do you smell that?", jolting her back to the realization that she was trapped in a room with a killer.
