Sifilia B By the Insane Poet and Insane Writer

My head was already throbbing as I entered the doors of Bellagio in Las Vegas. I had already contracted the first symptoms of Sifilia B; a man-made bacterial virus capable of mass extinction, and it was spreading throughout my body like wildfire.

The pain only became worse as I stumbled through the crowds of people, not knowing the catastrophe that was coursing within my veins.

Then it hit me, a spin sharper than any blade, pierced inside my head, causing me to fall on the hard cold floor of the hotel room.

I couldn't see straight, but at that moment I could barely see anyways. I blacked out without a thought of the disaster that awaited my awakening.

I don't know exactly how long I had been out, but now there were people all around me. Not good. I wanted, I needed to get away from them before it was too late. They had no idea how big this virus was. This hotel and it's people were in grave danger.

At first, I was angry with myself for risking their lives. I didn't even know why I was there to begin with. Then I remembered.

I had been tracking the woman. She'd checked into the hotel a few nights ago I'd been told and she was the cure. Only one problem. Somebody had lied. The woman had checked into the room alright, but it wasn't her.

Now I had to start all over and these people were about to die. It was as simple as that, the poor fools. People were starting to shout.

"What the hell is that?" Someone asked.

"Get back!" Another one shouted. And so it had started.

I tried to get up, to get away from them, but the room wouldn't stop spinning and it felt as if some force was holding me down. Maybe if I warned them.

Get away from me. You're going to die. Get away! My mind was shouting the words, but my mouth refused to form them.

A woman kneeled  down beside me, their face inches away from mine. Are you crazy? Get away from me! Again, my mouth refused to form the words. But she refused to budge. Instead she leaned even closer and before I knew what was happening she kissed me.

I tried to move, but my body refused to allow it. Question after question raced through my mind. Who was she? Why would she do such a thing? Hadn't she heard the shouts from the guests of the hotel to get away from me.

My mind continued to try and comprehend what I could not understand. And then suddenly, the throbbing stopped.

Last weekend I actually spent a night away from my house. It was only in a hotel in our local town, but it was a night away from my somewhat crazy life!

So would I do it again? Well, maybe under different circumstances and if it were away from Independence, KS. Like right now I noticed that Hampton Hotel is giving away a free weekend stay at any of their locations with daily giveaways. Hey, I think to myself, there's one in Bartlesville, OK. Hmmm.

So, how do I enter? Or wait how can you enter??? Simple. Just visit their website! Or even simpler, just go to Hampton Chain of Friends Sweepstakes.

So what next, I'm thinking. Hmm. Well, I could always take the other half or hang out with my best friend for her birthday and hold a birthday bash there. Hey, that would be a blast!

You know it's always good to get out with friends, even for a weekend vacation and just do a little traveling, even if the trip is just an hour or so away. It's been years since I've done that and I miss it. So, what would you do to escape life for a weekend?

A Vacation Just Isn't a Vacation Without a Nice Hotel

A while back I wrote an article about Panama City Beach, Florida. And while it's not one of my favorite cities in Florida that I'm interested in visiting, it does have its appeal and charm. However, I was never really certain about the panama city beach motels until now. I hadn't really done any research on them because I never really thought about how important a hotel can be when it comes to a vacation until now.

I mean seriously, who wants to stay at some hotel whose service sucks or where the rooms have a problem. When you are trying to relax, it should be all about relaxing. You should not have to stress over a shower that doesn't work, a housekeeper that never shows up or a roach crawling across the bathroom sink(believe me I've stayed in a hotel that had that problem). So I think in future articles that I write about places to vacation, I think I will start including some hotel options.

Clara

The taxi cab pulled to a sudden stop, bringing Clara back to reality. They were finally at the Miami hotel and from the looks of it, just in time too. She knew the city was one of the biggest hot spots during spring break, but this was just crazy.

"Twenty four-seventy-five, ma'am." The taxi cab driver said. Clara leaned forward and handed the cab driver a twenty and ten dollar bill she'd been holding in her hand the entire ride.

"Keep the change." The cab driver nodded as he watched her grab her bags and exit his cab. From the looks of things it would be at least an hour before she could check in at the front desk. Clara sighed and pushed her way through the massive crowd hoping to find a secluded spot where she could wait things out. Instead, she found her cousin who she thought wouldn't be arriving until tomorrow, mingling at the bar.

Donnie waved at her as she made her way through to where he stood with a drink in hand. "Hello cuz." He said raising his glass her way.

"I thought you weren't arriving until tomorrow." Clara said.

"Seems my contract ended sooner than expected." He said.

"Ohh?" But before her cousin could respond, a loud pop followed by screams filled the air.

"Shit, get down!" Clara found herself being shoved down to the ground by her cousin as hundreds of panicking faces joined her. Another loud pop and more screams filled the air and then suddenly they were surrounded in total darkness.

"Clara, you alright?" Her cousin asked her.

"Yes." She managed while suddenly wondering why she'd let her cousin talk her into this trip in the first place. It was just her luck that disaster seemed to follow her every time she left her apartment.

"Okay don't move." He said. And just where did he expect her to go when they were surrounded by darkness? She could barely see when the lights were on, so she certainly wasn't going to try to move through hundreds of bodies and give them an excuse to trample her to death. No way. She'd stay right where she was at, thank you very much. Little did she know how wrong she was about to be.

Seeing an Old Friend

I've been thinking long and hard about a vacation. Maybe not right now, but this coming spring or summer would be nice. So that first thing I did today was put a little extra back in saving. Part of it will go for a new vehicle and part of it will go for a vacation.

What I would really love to do is visit my old friend from grade school who lives in las vegas nevada. And while we're there we could enjoy a nice hotel and some time at a spa. It would be great to get a way from reality for a a week or so! I also have an aunt and cousin who live on the way there, so instead of flying, we could always drive there! I guess what I need to do is set a goal for the vacation! Now if I can just get the hubby to save some vacation time! lol

Living in Las Vegas

For those who don't already know, I used to live in Las Vegas, NV. While I loved the buildings and nightlife, I hated living in the dry desert and the fact that there were so many tourists there. So, I moved on. I still have several friends that live there, however. So, I'd like to eventually go on some Las Vegas vacations in the future just to see my friends again. The neat thing about Las Vegas is, there's a lot of different places to visit. All of the hotels and casinos, celebrities, the Dams and other unique tourist stops. There is always something for everyone. It's just not the best place to live! Unless of course you love the tourists!

Our Hotel Peeping Tom is Back

Apparently our hotel peeping tom is back. He was spotted again by our night shift attendant, only this time he got much bolder and came to the front door. The police were notified and we were told that our peeping tom may very well be a stalker. So, what was a weird situation, has now turned into a scary one for her. I hope they are able to catch him soon!!!
