Sifilia B By the Insane Poet and Insane Writer

My head was already throbbing as I entered the doors of Bellagio in Las Vegas. I had already contracted the first symptoms of Sifilia B; a man-made bacterial virus capable of mass extinction, and it was spreading throughout my body like wildfire.

The pain only became worse as I stumbled through the crowds of people, not knowing the catastrophe that was coursing within my veins.

Then it hit me, a spin sharper than any blade, pierced inside my head, causing me to fall on the hard cold floor of the hotel room.

I couldn't see straight, but at that moment I could barely see anyways. I blacked out without a thought of the disaster that awaited my awakening.

I don't know exactly how long I had been out, but now there were people all around me. Not good. I wanted, I needed to get away from them before it was too late. They had no idea how big this virus was. This hotel and it's people were in grave danger.

At first, I was angry with myself for risking their lives. I didn't even know why I was there to begin with. Then I remembered.

I had been tracking the woman. She'd checked into the hotel a few nights ago I'd been told and she was the cure. Only one problem. Somebody had lied. The woman had checked into the room alright, but it wasn't her.

Now I had to start all over and these people were about to die. It was as simple as that, the poor fools. People were starting to shout.

"What the hell is that?" Someone asked.

"Get back!" Another one shouted. And so it had started.

I tried to get up, to get away from them, but the room wouldn't stop spinning and it felt as if some force was holding me down. Maybe if I warned them.

Get away from me. You're going to die. Get away! My mind was shouting the words, but my mouth refused to form them.

A woman kneeled  down beside me, their face inches away from mine. Are you crazy? Get away from me! Again, my mouth refused to form the words. But she refused to budge. Instead she leaned even closer and before I knew what was happening she kissed me.

I tried to move, but my body refused to allow it. Question after question raced through my mind. Who was she? Why would she do such a thing? Hadn't she heard the shouts from the guests of the hotel to get away from me.

My mind continued to try and comprehend what I could not understand. And then suddenly, the throbbing stopped.

The Trip

"If I take out several cash advances, I'll have enough for the trip." Alayna smiled at her friend Joshua who was frowning at her brilliant idea.

"Why don't you forgo the trip if you can't afford it, hun." He said.

"No way. I'm not letting you have all the fun." Alayna loved her best friend, but he was never one for taking risks and budgets was his favorite seven letter word next to gayness.

She watched Joshua let out a heavy sigh, then give his whatever shrug, which made her smile. They were going to Las Vegas to see Criss Angel and she couldn't wait!

Staying in Grand Hotels

A few weeks ago we headed up north to look at jobs and take some time away from here. While we were there we stayed at a casino/hotel that was very nice, courtesy of my mother-in-law.

When I lived in Last Vegas, I never really had the privilege of staying in any of the Vegas hotels. Some day when I go back for a visit, I think I would love to stay at one of them. Especially if it's like the hotel we recently stayed in. The rooms were very nice and they offered wonderful soaps, shampoos, conditioners and even lotions. The only thing it lacked was some great television channels.

Of course as the mom-in-law stated, people stay there to gamble, not sleep and that's just what the hotels want! Can't argue with that! LOL

Seeing an Old Friend

I've been thinking long and hard about a vacation. Maybe not right now, but this coming spring or summer would be nice. So that first thing I did today was put a little extra back in saving. Part of it will go for a new vehicle and part of it will go for a vacation.

What I would really love to do is visit my old friend from grade school who lives in las vegas nevada. And while we're there we could enjoy a nice hotel and some time at a spa. It would be great to get a way from reality for a a week or so! I also have an aunt and cousin who live on the way there, so instead of flying, we could always drive there! I guess what I need to do is set a goal for the vacation! Now if I can just get the hubby to save some vacation time! lol

Living in Las Vegas

For those who don't already know, I used to live in Las Vegas, NV. While I loved the buildings and nightlife, I hated living in the dry desert and the fact that there were so many tourists there. So, I moved on. I still have several friends that live there, however. So, I'd like to eventually go on some Las Vegas vacations in the future just to see my friends again. The neat thing about Las Vegas is, there's a lot of different places to visit. All of the hotels and casinos, celebrities, the Dams and other unique tourist stops. There is always something for everyone. It's just not the best place to live! Unless of course you love the tourists!

Leaving Las Vegas

For a while I lived in Las Vegas, NV. I really don't recommend living there. It's nothing but dry desert and a tourist trap from hell. I know a few friends who would love to argue though. However, visiting Las Vegas.. Well, I highly recommend it. There is so much to do and see there and chances are you'll never get bored. You might even see a few celebrities if the idea thrills you. If you don't really know the city though, a Las Vegas travel guide is something you'll want to look for.

Without one, finding the best places to stay and visit can be a not so fun experience.

The Aquarius Casino Resort

When I lived in Las Vegas, I was surprised at so many great hotels there were to choose from. Yet, Vegas isn't the only city who has great hotels. I stayed in Reno for a Poetry Convention several years ago at the Marriott. Wow. there was so much to see and do right in the hotel!

Yet, Las Vegas and Reno aren't the only cities in Nevada with great hotels it seems. While I have never been to any of them, laughlin hotels I've been told are just as nice. My husband and his dad were able to stay in one of Laughlin's hotels when my husband was in California gold mining for his uncle. I was looking at The Aquarius Casino Resort in Laughlin. They're offering discount prices which is absolutely great! I wouldn't mind staying there. Maybe for our anniversary or something. Right now only wishful thinking, but who knows.

2 Girls Plus Wrong Side of Town Equals Big Trouble

Several years ago, my best friend and I ended up on a road trip to Las Vegas. Even though I'd lived there, I wanted to bring my best friend to the city because she was in dire need of a vacation since I knew there were plenty of things to do in Las Vegas. So I snuck back to Kansas and we snuck away to Las Vegas with the kids. Needless to say she experienced more than she bargained for when we missed our exit and would up on a seedy side of town.

I was born and raised in a not so great neighborhood in my own hometown, so I'm used to it. My best friend however, is not. As soon as we got off of the next exit so I could turn around and get back on the right one, my friend began to panic. At first it seemed, things were not so bad and for a minute, I was able to calm her down. But then as soon as she saw a guy lying out in the middle of the street, she screamed and had the neighborhood on alert.

I ended up having to high tail it out of there because I was driving a newer model sport's car at that time. I don't think I ever heard the end of it and to this day, she still talks about that trip.lol What's even more crazy is, while she was visiting me in Las Vegas, her family and an ex, insisted that she come back immediately.lol Imagine that, a grown women being told she has to come home, right now.lol Well, at least she was able to enjoy herself with the many

Eventually I am sure my best friend and I will end up taking another road trip together. That is if our husbands will let us get away with it. Who knows, maybe we can talk them into coming with us!

In the mean time, we can always dream and ponder about where we're headed on our next road trip/vacation. I was thinking maybe California since there are plenty of things to do in Los Angeles.

Since I am not really familiar with the Los Angeles area, I thought maybe Trusted Tours & Attractions would be a great start in information for the city. They have a lot of interesting information on other great cities, as well.

I was thinking I could easily sign up for their newsletter and while I am at it, I might take a peek at the special promotion they are having right now. Right now they are offering a chance to win a a $150 itunes gift card just for signing up for their newsletter, from now until May 31st, 2008. How insane is that?

I think if my best friend and I do decide to head to Los Angeles, we might check out one of their sightseeing tours. Any suggestions?

Seeing an Old Friend in Vegas

Growing up I had one best friend who was always there for me. When I moved away it was hard, and then we both grew up and moved on. We kept in touch however, and ironically I followed her from the east coast to the west coast.

Eventually I moved back home and she stayed on the west coast in Las Vegas. She loves it out there and I am happy for her. Las Vegas is not my cup of tea for living, but visiting, yes. One of these days I would like to go back to Las Vegas and see my friend again. While we are there I am sure my husband will want to go downtown and experience the Las Vegas Strip (a boy and his Casino toys), so I imagine we'll be staying downtown at one of the many, Vegas rooms they have to offer. Personally I have my eye on staying at Caesars Palace, but I am sure my husband will have other ideas.lol Oh well, who knows!

Planning a Trip to Vegas?

If you're planning a trip to Vegas, you may want to drop by I4Vegas since they offer some really reasonable discounts on hotels.

I lived in Vegas for about 6 months, so I know it's not easy to find a good hotel rate unless you're really familiar with the city.

Right now I4Vegas is featuring the Golden Nugget, while I have never been to that hotel specifically, I do recommend visiting it at least once... even if you're not planning to stay there. My favorite is actually the Hard Rock Hotel. They have a little Mexican restaurant that is awesome and not too far from it is a wall of Elvis Memorabilia.

Whichever hotel you decide to stay at, I4Vegas looks like a great place to go for great rates.

Making a Move

About 3 years ago I made the biggest change in my life and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada to start all over again. My decision to move there was thanks to a friend who I'd met through writing. She was a long time resident of Las Vegas and boasted about the city every chance she had.

While Las Vegas wasn't really for me due to the fact that I'm not fond of the desert 24/7.... it doesn't mean you may feel the same way. Las Vegas has many opportunities and a great place to be if you love the tourist life, the celebrities, gaming, etc. Job opportunities are extremely wonderful there as well.

If you're on the move whether you love the thought of a big city or your job is taking you new places..or you already live in Las Vegas, you might want to consider buying a home through Las Vegas Real Estate Properties. After all, doing it alone can be a pain if you've never been there before.

If you're not new to the area, but you're ready to make an escape like I did..... Las Vegas Properties can help you with that as well. Whatever your needs, check them out. If you're from Vegas or you're considering a move there, let me know. I do have friends who still live there and can be very helpful on getting around the city.
