Houses and Jobs in This Economy

Right now real estate property seems to be at it's lowest. The reason for this is no one is willing to pay high taxes when the economy is going downhill. We were actually lucky that we got our house before everything went sky high.

What's interesting is that a while back there was a house in Detroit, Michigan that sold for $1! That's pretty insane if you ask me! And what's even more insane is that it took 19 days to sell!

I don't know about you, but at $1 I think I would actually invest in the house. Maybe the economy isn't doing well right now, but eventually houses are going to be needed again. People will want or need to rent or own, especially in the bigger cities where jobs are not as scarce.

Houses that would be available with a phoenix realtor will stand a better chance of selling than houses in a smaller city or state. Think about it. The bigger the city, the more jobs there are available. There's also a lot more housing to choose from verses a smaller town. The only thing that would be an advantage for a smaller town is the fact that housing can be cheaper. Unfortunately that is no longer true. Housing has gone up everywhere.

So whether you're renting or buying a house in a small town where very few jobs are available or you're headed to bigger cities and investing in a house through realtor's in phoenix, there will always be advantages and disadvantages of both. Decisions! Decisions!

North Carolina Living

While I've lived on the east coast and been to just about every state on that side of the U.S., I've never been to North Carolina. I wonder if it would be a nice place to live, especially along the coast of the state. I honestly don't know, but Wilmington real estate sure makes the area look tempting enough to at least visit there. They look like they have some nice houses there too and as far as prices, well that's about right for the east coast.

Does anyone lives in North Carolina or been there? If so, what is that area like?

Cleaning Up

Last week I ordered a big trash dumpster from our city's dumpster program. Generally the city charges $200 per a day for the dumpster which is really insane, but in an effort to get people to clean up the city, they're offering it for free at the moment.

So, needless to say, I took advantage of the opportunity. We had some old furniture and junk in the garage that needed to go and since I was able to get it for over a 3 day weekend, I figured this was the perfect time.

So far I have managed to throw out an old mattress set, a bbq grill and smoker left by the previous owner of this house and the pool liner from the no longer there pool. As scary as it is, just that stuff has managed to fill up the dumpster! I do have an old dresser that I want to throw out too and a couch. The dresser I think I can get away with, but the couch I'll have to call the city about.

I actually wanted to clean out the garage and get rid of a bunch of stuff in there too, but it looks like that might have to wait until next time around. Actually, I hope there is a next time around. I guess we'll see!

Making a Move

About 3 years ago I made the biggest change in my life and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada to start all over again. My decision to move there was thanks to a friend who I'd met through writing. She was a long time resident of Las Vegas and boasted about the city every chance she had.

While Las Vegas wasn't really for me due to the fact that I'm not fond of the desert 24/7.... it doesn't mean you may feel the same way. Las Vegas has many opportunities and a great place to be if you love the tourist life, the celebrities, gaming, etc. Job opportunities are extremely wonderful there as well.

If you're on the move whether you love the thought of a big city or your job is taking you new places..or you already live in Las Vegas, you might want to consider buying a home through Las Vegas Real Estate Properties. After all, doing it alone can be a pain if you've never been there before.

If you're not new to the area, but you're ready to make an escape like I did..... Las Vegas Properties can help you with that as well. Whatever your needs, check them out. If you're from Vegas or you're considering a move there, let me know. I do have friends who still live there and can be very helpful on getting around the city.

Things I Need For the Windows in This House

We've been here for over a month now and we have yet to put any blinds on the windows. I think it is time, don't you? I was checking out Terry Fabrics Blinds and found some really cool Roman blinds there, that would look great in the kitchen! They have a faux suede blind called, Buffalo Roman that is absolutely gorgeous. It's an espresso color that would go great with the kitchen's decor. The Blind is available in 5 sizes, so I'm very sure I can find ones to easily fit the kitchen windows. The company is however, located in the UK, so I'd imagine the shipping would be a little more to here, but I think they would be worth it. If you're interested and need to dress up your windows, they do have a nice selection of other blinds including wooden ones. I had wooden blinds on my living room windows in another home and I loved them. It's definitely worth checking this site out!

Pool Cleaning, Blogging, Mood Swinging and Other Useless Crap!!

Thanks to payperpost's nice little note (sarcasm intended) I'm now in the mood to blog. So really, don't mind me if you find quite a few personal posts today. I really haven't updated this thing with much lately anyway. Not that this post is really going to be useful!

Over the weekend, we finally managed to begin working on our pool. Now when I mean work, I seriously mean work. Apparently the dude who owned this house before us was not good on any of the upkeep. The pool looks more like a pond than anything and we learned he swam in it when it was green! As a matter of fact it's gotten to the point that a couple of frogs have made their home in it!

So, we cleaned both the bottom and top of the pool over the weekend. Our next objective is to borrow my soon-to-be brother-in-law's pool pump to remove the rest of the nastiness that has invaded our pool. We were going to borrow it over the weekend, but unfortunately something came up and we were not able to do so. So now we have to wait because of work schedules. Sooo much fun!!!!

Whew soo much to do, in so little time:

Finish the pool before the 4th of July
Pick up the kids in June
Head north to visit Science City, The Ren Fair and Mom
Get everything we need for our wedding in October (
We may have to move the date due to Surgery and the kids moving)
Honeymoon after the wedding (
not this year it looks like!)
Kids Birthdays: May, June, July, September and October
Need a new vehicle since the truck needs a major overhaul

And that's just the beginning of the list...

Pottery Barn and Saving Big With CouponChief.com

A few days ago I received Pottery Barn Catalog in the mail. Well, since then, I've discovered that it's my favorite place to shop! I love their style and ideas for furnishings and home decor. I couldn't believe that I was able to find furnishings and decor for every room in our home! What I love about Pottery Barn is their beautiful crafted wood furniture. I found a farmhouse Bedroom suite that I am absolutely in love with. I also found several light fixtures that would be great for the kitchen and a toilet paper roll/magazine rack for the bathroom. Most of their style has an old farmhouse theme, but somehow they manage to mix it and make it modern and suitable for just about any room in the house. Their also big on the beach house theme, which I love the most!

I also discovered that CouponChief.com has coupon deals for Pottery Barn. Very Nice! I can find FREE SHIPPING and SALE ITEMS. Can't beat that!
