Books, Books and more Books

Ever had an interest in Amazon books? I don't know about you, but I am a book lover and it drives some of my family members crazy. I have tons of books that I've bought used, new and gotten for free that I read whenever I get a free moment, which currently is far and few in between.

And then when I'm done reading the books, I give them to family members, trade them for other books or put them in my keep collection. So far I have about 20 books in my keep collection, which include everything from The Outsiders to North and South and War Cloud's Passion. So as you can see it's a sort of variety selection, but one that I love very much!

Unanswered Questions, a bit more of a novel I am working on

She placed the Bluetooth headset on and dialed the number that had once brought fear to her. When she heard the line pick up she held her breath and waited.

"Hello Kate. I knew sooner or later you'd call. Just can't resist your big brother can you?"

"You're only older by a minute." She replied.

"You always were a spoil sport." He laughed.

"Where are you Kyle?" She knew it was a question that would go unanswered, but she needed to ask him anyway.

His response was almost a sinister laugh. "I don't think so little sis." And before she could give a response of her own, she heard the familiar click of the line and silence on the other end.

The ID

"What the hell are those?" She asked over the noise of the rave music.

"They're called netbooks." He said.

"Okay, so why so many of them?" She asked.

"Couldn't tell you that. Bottle, babe?" He asked as he held out a beer to her.
“No, and I’m not your babe.” he shrugged and then walked away. She was glad the creep was gone. She would never understand why her parents insisted on making her go out with him. Pizza and a movie. Ha!

Now that she had a chance to be alone she was able to really observe the place he had taken her to and realized that the building was some kind of upper and lower level underground club. The walls were painted black with red lighting for the background she noted.

“Soda?” The creep was back and shoving a paper cup at her now. She hesitated, but took the drink anyway. “How about we mingle?” He asked her.

“No thanks.” She took a drink of the soda and he laughed.

“Something funny?” She asked him.

“No, nothing at all.” He said. Swallowing the rest of the soda Allie yawned and focused on a guy dressed in jeans and a black leather jacket across the room. It was obvious he wasn’t their age. He was older, twenty maybe if not older and she wondered what he was doing here. She suddenly realized he'd turned her way and was staring at her as if he knew she'd been watching him, a dark curl brushed past his shoulder.

She smiled at him, but instead of smiling back at her he frowned and then turned away. Allie yawned once more suddenly feeling very tired. So much for trying to be nice. She thought. It was the last thing she remembered before slouching to the floor.

The Journal

She'd purchased Amazon books many times before, so today was no different. The online website BUY had thousands of books on any subject imaginable, although books on the Amazon were here favorite. There wasn't a topic she hadn't read, a story she hadn't seen, words that hadn't crossed her lips.

So, when she logged into her account she was surprised to see the old journal load on her computer screen. It wasn't that it was so unusual to see a book, it was just odd to see an old one because BUY primarily dealt in new items.

But the old journal opened and she suddenly found herself staring at pages that were slowly beginning to glow right before her eyes. What the hell? She stared as the journal's pages pulsated faster and faster until a sudden bright light flashed across the screen. And then, she saw the words. Words that seemed to just float off of the page and suspend in midair before her.

For a moment it was as if time had stood and then the words were gone and when she looked back at her computer screen, she realized the journal was gone as well. And in that same moment she considered the idea that it was all a dream. Just a freaky dream because she loved books so much. And maybe it would have been a perfect dream until she saw the old journal lying on her desk, it's pages slowly beginning to glow.

Rage

“More coffee Katie Scott?”

Katie turned toward the roboserver and shook her head. “No thank you.”

“Very well.” The roboserver acknowledged then moved on to the table behind her.

She was such a klutz. This would be the second shirt in less than a week that would end up in the rag pile as a result of her clumsiness. Katie let out a sigh and continued to blot up the coffee on her shirt with a napkin. She couldn’t afford another new shirt. A silly thought ran through her head. Maybe she should just give up drinking all together. No more coffee, soda, tea, no more ruined shirts.

An alert bulletin above Katie scrolled across the LCD TV screen causing her to stop and take notice. It couldn't be.

A chill ran down her spine as she read the alert aloud. "5 hours ago at about 1am this morning a young woman was discovered raped and murdered inside her home. At approximately 2:19am this morning two other women were discovered raped and murdered 4 blocks away. The suspect is said to be wearing a navy blue shirt and black pants. No information is available as to who the suspect is just yet."

Katie swallowed her fear and stared as the bulletin scrolled across the screen once more. She knew exactly who the suspect was. He'd sworn he'd find a way to remove the chip and then he'd when he did, he said he'd be back for her. She knew because she'd sent him away. her own twin brother, she'd sent him away and now he was back, sending her a message, looking for her.

What's Wrong With a Good Sale?

If you haven't noticed by now, I'm a person that loves a good sale. Now while I'm not one that won't just buy anything that's on sale, I simply can't understand why some people will avoid them like a plague. They absolutely must by everything at full price and won't bother with sales or clearance items. My question is why? I know someone who does this and then complains because they never have any money. Well DUHHHH!!!!

If you want to have more money, take a look at sales. There's nothing wrong with them. It's part of the reason why we're able to enjoy good foods and have a little extra to rent a movie or two. I shop sales! What's your excuse?

Gonna Have to Buy a Car....

One thing that I am in desperate need of is a car. I don't need a new one because to be honest, right now I can't afford a new vehicle. Besides, there's nothing wrong with a used vehicle like a used ford from the Buy Your Car website in the UK.
While I may not live in the UK, I am sure I am not alone in needing a car. Right now, I am able to get to and from work since my husband is able to drop me off and a friend is able to pick me up. However, that may very well change in the future and soon! I've already walked the three-mile journey home once, I really don't want to do that again! With gas prices on the rise, a car that is reasonable on gas is a must for me! Since summer is approaching, what I would love to do is buy a bike. Even a simple mo-pad would do.

The one great thing about Buy Your Car's website is, they offer both privately owned and dealership owned vehicles. You can look for a car by specific details such as, make, model, year and even color. How insane is that? The website also offers tips on what to look for when buying a car, what sort of questions to ask the seller and they even provide you with an 18 points buyer’s checklist.

I wonder if there is a US based website that can do all of that???

Rare Gold Coins For My Father-in Law

My father-in-law has a fascination when it comes to collecting gold coins. It's fun to watch his reaction when he shows my husband and I his collection, and of course it's interesting to see all of the wonderful gold and rare coins that he has.

Since the holidays are already vastly approaching again this year, I was thinking maybe we could get him a rare coin he may not have in his collection. I noticed that Monaco Rare coins has some interesting coins that I know my father-in-law will love. Like the, Certified MS-63 Saint Gaudens $20 Double Eagles. I also noticed that Monaco has silver dollars available as well. And they have a special on, Uncirculated Morgan Silver Dollars. How cool is that?

They even have a Best Price Guarantee. I don't know about you, but I don't know of any dealer around here that has that sort of a guarantee. I like knowing that I am paying a good price on something like this. They'll also keep you up-to-date on the latest in rare coin deals, etc. Awesome.

Even if you're just looking to sell some rare coins you may have, Monaco can help. Check them out. And Uhh Ohhh.... My husband is hooked!!

Making a Move

About 3 years ago I made the biggest change in my life and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada to start all over again. My decision to move there was thanks to a friend who I'd met through writing. She was a long time resident of Las Vegas and boasted about the city every chance she had.

While Las Vegas wasn't really for me due to the fact that I'm not fond of the desert 24/7.... it doesn't mean you may feel the same way. Las Vegas has many opportunities and a great place to be if you love the tourist life, the celebrities, gaming, etc. Job opportunities are extremely wonderful there as well.

If you're on the move whether you love the thought of a big city or your job is taking you new places..or you already live in Las Vegas, you might want to consider buying a home through Las Vegas Real Estate Properties. After all, doing it alone can be a pain if you've never been there before.

If you're not new to the area, but you're ready to make an escape like I did..... Las Vegas Properties can help you with that as well. Whatever your needs, check them out. If you're from Vegas or you're considering a move there, let me know. I do have friends who still live there and can be very helpful on getting around the city.

My Own Island.... Someday

Have you ever wanted to own your own island. A place where you can just disappear from the world.. where no one knows about (except for those you tell).... a place where you don't have to answer your cell phone or get online or worry about someone just dropping by without warning.

I don't remember when I started dreaming about owning an island, but the dream still remains strong and someday I plan to turn that dream into reality. The last time I looked at islands, I found a few on ebay. That was several years ago, however. Tonight I was doing some surfing and found a website where island are available for sale or rent: www.privateislandsonline.com. However, the one thing that stunned me was the prices. Umm 10 million for an island??? Who can afford that??

Well, maybe someday or maybe I can find one for a much cheaper part. For now, that dream is still in the works. Or better yet, maybe I'll just take a boat out to the middle of nowhere and get lucky enough to wash up on some deserted island.lol
