Books, Books and more Books

Ever had an interest in Amazon books? I don't know about you, but I am a book lover and it drives some of my family members crazy. I have tons of books that I've bought used, new and gotten for free that I read whenever I get a free moment, which currently is far and few in between.

And then when I'm done reading the books, I give them to family members, trade them for other books or put them in my keep collection. So far I have about 20 books in my keep collection, which include everything from The Outsiders to North and South and War Cloud's Passion. So as you can see it's a sort of variety selection, but one that I love very much!

Save money, save the planet, buy used books!

I'm not really sure why so many people refuse to buy used books or at the very least check them out from their local library. When you're trying to save money, why purchase a book that will cost anywhere from $10 to $20 or sometimes more, when you can head to a local used bookstore and purchase them for half that amount sometimes even more!

Why? Why? Why?

The Journal

She'd purchased Amazon books many times before, so today was no different. The online website BUY had thousands of books on any subject imaginable, although books on the Amazon were here favorite. There wasn't a topic she hadn't read, a story she hadn't seen, words that hadn't crossed her lips.

So, when she logged into her account she was surprised to see the old journal load on her computer screen. It wasn't that it was so unusual to see a book, it was just odd to see an old one because BUY primarily dealt in new items.

But the old journal opened and she suddenly found herself staring at pages that were slowly beginning to glow right before her eyes. What the hell? She stared as the journal's pages pulsated faster and faster until a sudden bright light flashed across the screen. And then, she saw the words. Words that seemed to just float off of the page and suspend in midair before her.

For a moment it was as if time had stood and then the words were gone and when she looked back at her computer screen, she realized the journal was gone as well. And in that same moment she considered the idea that it was all a dream. Just a freaky dream because she loved books so much. And maybe it would have been a perfect dream until she saw the old journal lying on her desk, it's pages slowly beginning to glow.

Dummies

I've been seeing a lot of the books for Dummies here lately and it really makes me wonder why someone would ever publish such a name. Even more curious is why someone would buy such a book that would downgrade them personally.

Think about it. Really. If you wouldn't call yourself stupid, why would you ever call yourself a dummy. Now I am sure there are those out there who wouldn't consider a book for dummies as downgrading yourself.. Plus there are those who just don't care one way or another... BUT, I for one am actually tired of seeing books labeling others in a downgrading manner. It's been really bugging me lately and the more I see those damn books, the more irritated I get. To me it's teaching our kids to say it's okay to teach someone that they're a dummy..that they're stupid. Maybe those who write such a book should take a good look at themselves and wonder who's the real dummy.

Okay, just me rambling and a pet peeve that I have. Sorry.

Hotel Reservations Are a Must!

Summer is almost here and with it comes vacations. Not only that, but for me I have a honeymoon I am hoping to be able to fulfill as well as a trip to Oklahoma in September to see my oldest son. I know the hotels and vacation rentals don't come cheap, so I did a little search with www.hotelreservations.com and found that they do have Cheap Hotels!

Not only that, but I also discovered I can rent a car with them! Something else I am in definite need of! With www.hotelreservations.com I can easily save up to 70% off on all of my travel needs. I don't even think my local car rental place can beat that.

The cool thing about Hotel Reservations is that I can book my travel needs for just about anywhere in the world. I can book a flight, car rental and hotel rental all in one. I can also book a cruise vacation with them! Just what I was looking for as a honeymoon idea. How cool is that!!

When you go to their website, check out their destination guide. From there you can research and plan your trip. I'm already thinking this place will come in handy for future vacations. Maybe a route 66 road trip?? Hotel Reservations isn't just limited to hotel rentals either. You can find condo rentals as well as bed and breakfast rentals. And if you're looking for a great vacation package, this is the way to go! Maybe I'll get that honeymoon after all!!

Now the really cool thing that I just found out is that they offer up to $100 in rebates when you book a hotel. Free Money!!! Not bad at all!!! I also just saw that they have group rates. Hmm and my fiance and I were talking about friends and family vacationing in Disney Land not too long ago. Maybe the way to go!

Not from the USA? Not a problem. I see that they have Spanish, French and Italian, just in case you're more comfortable with your home's language.

Heck! I'm seeing that they even have spa packages! Honeymoon! Here we come!!! Be sure to check out Hotel Reservations and let me know how your vacation goes!
