No Longer Wasting My Time

I'm always looking for ways to get more done in my life, but usually I wind up not finding the time to do so. Between work, paying off debt, finding a vehicle, cleaning, cooking and caring for the kids, my plate winds up being pretty full. Then, it dawned on me.

There are times like I had Saturday when I was traveling that I realized I can use the time to write out rough drafts for work or schedules for the week. When I'm on long trips as a passenger or at the doctor's office or dental office waiting as I have done quite a bit lately. I realized I can use this time wisely instead of wasting it. I can do the same things that I normally do at home and save time!

I mean really! There's no reason I can't bring a notebook and write. It's not like anyone is going to stop me and say hey you can't do that. Well, maybe myself!

And ironically, this way of thinking isn't anything new to me. I'd read about these ideas before in magazines and books, and by researching other articles online. Yet, I continued to go about my old way of doing things, until now. Now I've realized that I need to stop burning myself out and make use of the spare time I have. Isn't great how one day away from home can change a person's perspective!

The Real Rules For Working at Home Part 1

For many at home parents, the idea of making a little money online sounds great. But, for some there's still that question of.... "How do I get started?"

If your goal is to make a little money online, the first thing you want to avoid are work-at-home scams.

The Number One Rule in this is: Any job asking you to send them money in order to make money is a SCAM. Simply put. You can argue all day long that, "Ohh, I can make money and get my money back by joining this program." However, I just don't and won't buy it. Now don't get me wrong, there are people out there who have made money this way, but I am a firm believer that you can make money online without having to spend money. Why? Well, because for most of us who are already on a tight budget, spending (wasting) money is something we simply can't afford.

Now let me add this. If you're spending money on a domain or upkeep for your website(s), or something along that line, that's different. What I am talking about is those work-at-home programs that ask you to send them money in order to get the job and then never pay up.... or ask you to send money and tell you in little tiny print that, "You could make money, but it's not a guarantee."

Number Two: You simply cannot expect to start a blog or a website and make big bucks overnight. It just doesn't happen that way. What you should expect is to make a reasonable amount of money overtime and then work your way up the ladder from there.

Number Three: It takes time and a lot of work to make money. Even an at-home job isn't something as simple as a few clicks and you're rolling in the money. It takes a lot of hard work and patience to make your blog or website a killer success. Even after you begin making money, you can't just expect the blog or website to run by itself. You'll still have to update it in order to keep things fresh if you want to keep earning money.

Number Four: You can't expect to earn a steady amount of money if you just rely on one source. Soo many bloggers like John Chow, can tell you this. It's been known as the phrase: "Don't put all your eggs (ads) into one basket." And of course, it's true. This goes for more than just ads, however. If you write reviews or articles like I do, you can't limit yourself to writing for one source or company such as payperpost. You have to get out there and keep yourself open to other resources as well.

Okay, I think I've said enough for now. If you have something to add to the above, please feel free to comment. I'd love to hear what you have to say.

In the meantime, I'll be sharing how to get started in working at home and obtaining goals for making money, in future posts!

Thank You!

I am very excited to have been paid by payperpost. I signed up with their new program payperpost direct about a week ago and yesterday I was asked to do a review for Eye Digest. I posted my review today and received my payment of $10 for the post just a few minutes ago. That $10 brings me one step closer to paying my bills, getting groceries, clothing and other thing we need this month. So, Thank You PayPerPost and Eye Digest!

I believe payperpost direct is a great opportunity for those who enjoy doing reviews and would love to get paid for them as well.

It's not a get rich quick scheme, just a great way to make a little money here and there while writing about great causes like eye digest and so forth.

Again Thank You!

Basking in the Sun with My Work

I tried something new today and decided to go outside with my laptop. It's wonderful to be able to do so and I only wish everyone could. The only downfalls I have discovered to being outside are, ants, my laptop connection and sun glare.

Lately we've been overrun by ants. We thought maybe it was just an isolated event, but we've learned that the entire neighborhood has been invaded by ants! I also found out my aunt had a serious problem with them last year. Enough of one that it destroyed most of her yard! The solution we're trying is a product called Sevin. It's used outside around the home. Speaking of which, I need to take care of that today!

My laptop connection I've discovered, when moved... loses it's connection at times. This is an ongoing battle and one I hope to resolve by purchashing a new laptop. Wishful thinking however, since there's way too much going on right now to be able to do so.

The sun glare is quite obvious and there's not much I can do about that one at the moment.

Okay, thank you for listening to my ramblings... My fiance will be calling any minute. I always enjoy his calls. They are the highlight of my day. Then after that, it's lunch and back to work!

A Day in the Life of An Insane Writer... Myself Of Course!

For those of you who wonder what my work day is like, or for those of you who are just humoring me as I blog this, Here it is.....

4:30am: The alarm goes off for the next 45 minutes as my fiance struggles to get out of bed and I am wide awake.

5:15am: My fiance starts his morning and leaves me with a goodbye kiss.

6:00am: I am already wide awake and decide to start my day.

6:15am: I sit down and dish out at least one article before I need to get my fiance's daughter up for school.

7:00am: I get his daughter ready for school and grab my own breakfast.

8:00am: Time to get back to my article writing. By now I've signed into yahoo messenger to check for emails and I'm chatting with friends.

10:00am: My fiance's son is wide awake and ready for breakfast!

10:30am: Time to research my third article for the day.

11:o0am: My fiance' calls to chat with me on his lunch break.

11:30am: Edit my research and get ready to write another article

12:00pm: Time for lunch
1:00pm: Back to work! I submit whatever articles I have already done and do a little surfing for my blog.

2:00pm: I research another article, chat, surf blogs and work on a post or two.

3:00pm: Time to get my fiance's daughter from school.

3:30pm: Enough time to research and wrap up my last article for the day.

Note: This is a typical work day that happens maybe 2 times a week. lately I've had to include errands, my radio show, and unexpected events into my schedule!!!
