Damn Deer

Most people already know that my night vision isn't the greatest. So it kind of amazes me that I still manage to drive to and from karaoke because of it. Another thing most people know is that one of the local streets that is by my house is notorious for deer due to it being so close to the dam. And a combination of the two as I learned last night is not a good thing. Although the damage wasn't extreme, it was enough to cause the driver side door not to be able to open properly.

But what's really interesting is, there's a small eraser size hole that looks like it was punctured then popped out as well. Something a deer would not make. Hmmm. I'm kinda wondering if my van was vandalized while I was at karaoke last night. it wouldn't surprise me and there have been numerous vandalized vehicles in the area lately.

Uhh Ohhh

Two things important going on here in the world of the Insane Writer. The 1st being there is no school for the kids tomorrow. We had some nasty sleet which made hell for drivers everywhere so the school was smart enough not to risk lives this time.

The second is, the husband set up the loan from his check early for the vehicle which means we'll be very short on cash for the next three weeks. The loan pulls weekly, but wasn't suppose to start until Mid-February, but he didn't tell Human Resources that, so they'll be sending the money early. Unfortunately it doesn't mean we get to pay off the loan early. It just means there's extra money in the account my husband will assume is play money unless he tells the bank lender otherwise. Sigh.

We're Starting the New Years With a Bang

My husband's truck finally broke down from neglect. He's considering just buying another vehicle, but where we're getting the money to buy it with is unclear. Because we make less than our mortgage and utilities add up to, we don't qualify for a loan and borrowing money from family is obviously out of the question due to the economic crisis.

I've hinted that he should just fix the truck's problem for now and then worry about a new vehicle when we can afford one, but I really don't think he wants to do that. So, I guess his dreams of making his truck like new again are on hold. At one time he was considering parking it in the garage and rebuilding the engine and body of it. I don't really know if he would want to add a supercharger to his baby, but who knows!

I know if he ever does, superchargerpros might be the place to go. I've checked them out before and they seem pretty cool. They have superchargers for just about every car and truck built. You can find a mercedes supercharger, Buick and Pontiac just to name a few.

They look like they have some great prices from what I can see, but I have yet to check anywhere else for something like this. And people seem to love their customer service, so that is definitely a bonus. And even better is their free shipping!

Car Renting Going Green!!

Eventually we're going to be moving on with our jobs. When we do, we won't be able to take my husband's old Chevy truck with us because it will barely make it out of town as it is. Since we can't take his truck with us, we'll need to rent a car or truck to get us to where we are going.

Advantage looks like a good place to look for a car rental at a reasonable price. And reasonable is a must! The only problem I found with Advantage is that they don't offer the state of Kansas as a place to pick up a vehicle with them.

Even though we won't be able to use Advantage's service, it doesn't mean that someone else can't! If you live in a major city like, Los Angeles, California...you're in luck!

The best think that I love about Advantage car rental is that they are committed to going green! How insane is that? They are already working on making sure their cars are 100% fuel efficient among other things. It's the first that I've heard of a car rental service going green. Definitely a plus in my book! Check them out!

Gonna Have to Buy a Car....

One thing that I am in desperate need of is a car. I don't need a new one because to be honest, right now I can't afford a new vehicle. Besides, there's nothing wrong with a used vehicle like a used ford from the Buy Your Car website in the UK.
While I may not live in the UK, I am sure I am not alone in needing a car. Right now, I am able to get to and from work since my husband is able to drop me off and a friend is able to pick me up. However, that may very well change in the future and soon! I've already walked the three-mile journey home once, I really don't want to do that again! With gas prices on the rise, a car that is reasonable on gas is a must for me! Since summer is approaching, what I would love to do is buy a bike. Even a simple mo-pad would do.

The one great thing about Buy Your Car's website is, they offer both privately owned and dealership owned vehicles. You can look for a car by specific details such as, make, model, year and even color. How insane is that? The website also offers tips on what to look for when buying a car, what sort of questions to ask the seller and they even provide you with an 18 points buyer’s checklist.

I wonder if there is a US based website that can do all of that???

Road Blocks

I've been trying for months and months to buy a vehicle of my own. Every time I get close enough to buying one, something always goes wrong.

I am now hoping by the end of February/beginning of March to finally end that road block and purchase a vehicle. Once I do, I know I will need insurance. I just wonder how expensive it's going to be. I remember when I lived on the west coast how expensive car insurance was!

I am sure it is no different in Modesto, California where family lives. Cost of living alone is really expensive there, so why pay more than what you have to for something like car insurance.

Cost-U-Less Insurance can save you money by offering reasonable costs at one of their many locations like, modesto car insurance. It's a simple as that. They have locations in both Northern and now Southern California.

Quotes are free, so there is nothing to lose. If you live in the California area and you're looking for a better insurance company for your vehicle, check them out. I know if they offered insurance around here or I still lived on the west coast, I would.

Sick Again

Looks like I am back to either having food poisoning or the stomach virus is back. I've been feeling crappy all day although this time I didn't take time off from work for it.

It also looks like my hubby caught whatever was going around. When I got home from work the entire house was dark and he was in bed trying to sleep. He said his stomach was bothering him. I did talk him into driving me to look at the van. It wasn't worth it, so I'm back to square one with looking for a vehicle.

As sad as it sounds, I do kinda wonder if the hubby is really that sick. What makes me wonder is he said he went from work to straight home because he wasn't feeling well. I believed him at first, but then when we came back home from looking at the vehicle, I noticed a paintball gun on the kitchen table. I asked him about it and he said it came from his brother and that he got it on his way home from work.

Soo obviously he wasn't sick enough not to be able to stop by his brother's house for a bit.lol Ohh well...

Time for dinner and then I am headed to bed.

Pool Cleaning, Blogging, Mood Swinging and Other Useless Crap!!

Thanks to payperpost's nice little note (sarcasm intended) I'm now in the mood to blog. So really, don't mind me if you find quite a few personal posts today. I really haven't updated this thing with much lately anyway. Not that this post is really going to be useful!

Over the weekend, we finally managed to begin working on our pool. Now when I mean work, I seriously mean work. Apparently the dude who owned this house before us was not good on any of the upkeep. The pool looks more like a pond than anything and we learned he swam in it when it was green! As a matter of fact it's gotten to the point that a couple of frogs have made their home in it!

So, we cleaned both the bottom and top of the pool over the weekend. Our next objective is to borrow my soon-to-be brother-in-law's pool pump to remove the rest of the nastiness that has invaded our pool. We were going to borrow it over the weekend, but unfortunately something came up and we were not able to do so. So now we have to wait because of work schedules. Sooo much fun!!!!

Whew soo much to do, in so little time:

Finish the pool before the 4th of July
Pick up the kids in June
Head north to visit Science City, The Ren Fair and Mom
Get everything we need for our wedding in October (
We may have to move the date due to Surgery and the kids moving)
Honeymoon after the wedding (
not this year it looks like!)
Kids Birthdays: May, June, July, September and October
Need a new vehicle since the truck needs a major overhaul

And that's just the beginning of the list...
