Car Renting Going Green!!

Eventually we're going to be moving on with our jobs. When we do, we won't be able to take my husband's old Chevy truck with us because it will barely make it out of town as it is. Since we can't take his truck with us, we'll need to rent a car or truck to get us to where we are going.

The best think that I love about Advantage car rental is that they are committed to going green! How insane is that? Drew Barrymore Victim of an Accident

Again it seems celebrities have been victims of car accidents. This time, actress Drew Barrymore was the victim of a hit and run driver this past week. This time however, Drew Barrymore decided to take matters into her own hands and follow the other vehicle to get their license plate number.

I don't know why people think they can get away with leaving the scene of an accident. It's way too easy anymore for people to just track you down. There are cameras everywhere and if you're caught, you're bound to get yourself into more hot water in the end.

When You're the Victim

When I lived on the east coast, the one thing I worried about was the high accident rate there. And if you're military, you might as well kiss your home state's coverage goodbye. It was one of the reason's why my old insurance company ran the other way, when they found out my ex-husband had been stationed on the east coast.

I remember one time when my ex-husband was a fault for a fender bender. We pulled over out of the way of traffic and took responsibility for our mistake. However, when the driver of the van that we'd hit found out that we'd called the police to report the accident, he left immediately.

Even though the accident was our fault, I often wonder what would have happened if it wasn't and the driver took off. What if we were seriously injured? What could we do? Where could we turn?

Holidays and Work

Just found out yesterday that we may very well have to work Thanksgiving Day. Was looking forward to going out of town Thanksgiving, but either way I go, we're not going out of town. So it doesn't really matter if I work or not now.

The only other problem is there is a rumor that we won't get paid overtime for working Thanksgiving Day. I don't see that one happening since it happens to be a law.

The only thing I am worried about is whether or not we'll be working Christmas Day or not. I do want that day off. I won't know anything until the very last moment.

The good news is I am getting my car this Monday. I'll be paying it in full. My husband tried to argue that I wasn't getting my car Monday, so I laughed.

I am very excited about getting the car since it will mean I won't have to worry about a ride to and from work and I won't have to wait on my ride who gets off 30 minutes later than I do, going home.

I will still need to get tags, taxes and insurance on the car, but I plan on doing that with my next check. My husband is thinking it will taking me a while before I can drive the car, but fat chance of that! lol

Time to finish cooking dinner.I'm making ham and beans for dinner w/ sweet cornbread.

As it Turns Out...

My best friend was able to get a hold of our lead from work, after all. So she'll be picking us up and bringing us home from work tomorrow instead of her brother. Then Wednesday we'll go back to our usual routine of riding to and from work with her brother until the 4th of November. Then our schedule changes after that so I'm not sure what we're doing since I won't have the car by then. Hoping to have it and in working condition by Thanksgiving. I'll have to explain the working condition thing another time.

My husband will be home any minute and I want to go to Walgreens to check out their Halloween selection. Then it's back home to make oyster stew for dinner. Yummy. :D
