That's What You Get For Using a Free Email Account

Yahoo is one of the most popular and well used free email accounts that I know of, but it's also one of the most notorious for spam and lots of it.

If you're planning to use Yahoo as your primary email address for your writing business like I do, there are a few things you should keep in mind.

While spam is nearly impossible to eliminate all together, you can minimize it by giving out your email address only to your clients and your agent or publisher who might need a way to contact you online.

Don't use your email address to sign up for writing programs, subscribe to blogs or other related writing activity. While it may seem like a good idea, it can also lead to unwanted spam. Make a separate account for those activities.

Never give out your email address to those free offers or product orders, etc. Create a junk mail account for this.

Keep your writing business account separate from your personal account that you may want to use to keep in touch with family and friends. This should also be a rule for your fans you'll want to keep in touch with.

And finally, it is always a good idea to create a paid account for your writing business once you can afford to do so. Not only will it eliminate a majority of spam, it's also more professional on your image verses a popular free email account like yahoo.

yahoo professionals unprofessional

I was sifting through some sites I had bookmarked when I ran across yahoo's advice from experts. In particular was an article on how to get a guy to listen to you in relationship. One of the suggestions was talking to him in the car.

I really don't know what that expert was thinking, but starting serious conversations in a car can be very dangerous if it ends in an argument! Drivers tend to lose focus on their driving which can lead to an accident! That was not very good advice in my opinion!!

Hey, Where's CSI?

I just got a look at yahoo's top five in Entertainment on television. I am familiar with most of the shows except for "Wipeout" and "So You Think You Can Dance." What surprises me is, "CSI:NY" is on the list coming in at number five, but "CSI:Las Vegas" is no where on the list. What gives? Well, I guess "CSI" has been around for a long time. I am also betting that just about every senerio has been done with the show too. You can only kill people so many times in so many ways before it gets old. It's sort of like, "The Simpsons." Come one, Bart, Lisa and Maggie cannot stay young forever.

I miss CSI though. I do get to catch up with it on CBS's website which is nice. The last episode I saw was where Warrick was shot and killed. Such a shame. My favorite character is Grissom. Poor guy though, they put him through soo much hell.

How easy it is to Become a Millionaire

Becoming a millionaire isn't just for the older generation any longer. Today's generation has discovered just how easy it can be to become a millionaire. You don't need a lot of money to get started either. You just need some great ideas according to Yahoo's Eight Unlikely Millionaires. They're just regular people like us who had an idea and turned it into something big. So, if you have an idea, don't just store it in the back of your mind somewhere. You never know where that idea may lead!

Stealing is a Crime, but on the Brighter Side.....

It just amazes me what some people think they can get away with. Celebrity or not, stealing is a crime and I am all for college student, Maria Markova winning her lawsuit against actress, Lindsay Lohan who apparently took her coat from a nightclub without a peep.

The only reason Markova knew that Lohan had taken it was because Lohan was dumb enough to wear it in front of the media. According to Yahoo News, Lohan's people did give the coat back to Markova, but I think there should be some sort of lawsuit or time spent for taking the coat in the first place. Lohan is lucky so far that Markova isn't pressing charges for theft! Watch out department stores, you could be the victim of Lohan's thievery next!

On the brighter side of famous faces, Katie Holmes is getting ready to star in a play on broadway.
But it wasn't the yahoo story that caught my eye. It was her new hairstyle! I absolutely love it! It reminds me so much of the roaring 20's. I love the new look and can't wait to see what other great styles Katie Holmes sports in the future.

Drew Barrymore Victim of an Accident

Again it seems celebrities have been victims of car accidents. This time, actress Drew Barrymore was the victim of a hit and run driver this past week. This time however, Drew Barrymore decided to take matters into her own hands and follow the other vehicle to get their license plate number.

I don't know why people think they can get away with leaving the scene of an accident. It's way too easy anymore for people to just track you down. There are cameras everywhere and if you're caught, you're bound to get yourself into more hot water in the end.

A Haunted Past Resurrected

I have always been fascinated with Jack The Ripper and his/her life. Why they did it, etc. To this day, it was unsure who Jack The Ripper really was. Now, there may be proof of Jack The Ripper's true identity, according to Historian, Charles van Onselen. Check it Out!
