Who Called Me?
Lately I have been getting a lot of numbers calling my phone and I have no idea who they are. Sometimes I will answer the call and sometimes I will let it pick up by voicemail. That is if they decide to leave one. Other times I simply miss the call. When that happens and there's no voicemail, I do get curious and want to know who called me.
To cure my curiosity, I go online and use a reverse phone book service similar to TraceNumber.com. Since tracenumber is new to me, I decided to give them a try verses my old service. The idea behind tracenumber is that when you type in a number they can give you the name and address of the person that number is listed under.
I don't have any recent mystery calls so just for the fun of it I did a search on my own phone number. While they didn't give me my address or name, they did show where the carrier comes from and that it is a cell phone. But since it is a cell phone, the results I kind of expected. See for yourself:
State: Kansas
County: Montgomery
City: Coffeyville
Line Type: Cell Phone
Phone Carrier: Kansas City Smsa Limited Partnership
Since the above is typical for cell phones, I decided to give them a go again with my aunt's house number and found the same problem.
State: Kansas
County: Montgomery
City: Coffeyville
Line Type: Landline
Phone Carrier: Southwestern Bell
Then I had a friend try his house number. The results?
State: Missouri
County: Jackson
City: Kansas City
Line Type: Landline
Phone Carrier: Southwestern Bell Mo
Also, the phone carrier is wrong. Southwestern Bell is now AT&T. So while all of the above had very minimum results I was wondering how someone would be able to get the address and name of a person if they needed it?
Well, as it turns out, after the results of the phone number lookup are given, you are able to get the name and address for a fee. I guess this might be okay if you really needed the information. For me however, it's not really worth my time. What do you think? Would you be willing to use TraceNumber for a price?

Cell Phones and No Call List
About a year ago I set my husband and I up to where we are suppose to be on the no call list. Now I am not sure why telemarketers think that the No Call List Information they have on us doesn't pertain to them, but I'm honestly getting fed up. Just about every week I have at least one telemarketer calling my phone trying to sell me something.
In the past I have tried telling them I am on the no call list however, they don't seem to care. I understand that telemarketers have a job to do too, but if you're on a no call list, it means DO NOT CALL. To eliminate the problem, I have started letting my voicemail catch my calls if I don't recognize the number. This creates a problem however since some of those calls I've ignored were important people calling me.
So, instead I have started looking up the numbers using Reverse Cell Phone Lookup to see who's calling me. It works great as long as I can check the calls in time.
Does my husband have the same problem with telemarketers that I do? Once in a while, but not nearly as often as I do. Lucky Bastard.

More Long Distance Savings
Own a cell phone, but don't own a home phone? Phone Cards can easily be used with your cell phone if you choose or you can use them at any pay phone. The choice is yours. But, no matter what the choice I am very sure you’ll save money by using an international phone card verses calling internationally through your long distance provider. The best part about phone cards is you can keep track of how much you are spending. No more guessing on how high your phone bill is going to be.
To be honest, I think phone cards are the perfect choice right now. They can easily save you money and you can stay in touch with loved ones serving overseas. You can not get a better deal than that.

Saving Even More During These hard Times
Lately I've been expressing how much of an increase we've experienced in just about everything. Food, Gas, Homes, etc. With the very possible fear of the economy facing another depression, nothing beats a great deal when it comes to saving money, and lately I've been finding a lot of great deals, both on and offline. While some might not be as useful as other deals, every little bit helps.
One of the most common uses in households today is the telephone. Whether it's calling from a landline or calling from a cell phone, we're always on the phone for business and for pleasure. Either way, we're spending money. Long distance calls can especially be expensive. Just think about it. Making a long distance call to a loved one who lives in another state or even worse, in another country can rack up $100's of dollars on your phone bill each month. And it’s even more hard during these difficult times if you have a loved one who is military and serving somewhere overseas.
Instead of spending hundreds of dollars on long distance bills, there are other alternatives that can save you money. Long Distance phone cards are a great way to save more when it comes to your phone bill. And places like Phone Cards Avenue can allow you to save 80% or more on your long distance phone bill, more than what At&t and Sprint can save you. They can provide you with great savings and you never have to worry about how much your long distance bill will be a month. I love that idea. I wish I could say the same for my Cell Phone Provider, which ironically happens to be through At&t. If you need a cheaper way for keeping your long distance bill at bay, try Phone Cards Avenue and let me know what you think.

ATT Wireless In Need of a Makeover
Finally after about 3 months someone with brains, fixed the problem. After that, I had no more problems. But then, last month I noticed my ATT wireless contract had been changed to 2009 instead of 2008. I had wanted to update my phone in April since the contract was suppose to end then.
So, I called ATT wireless once again, only to be informed that someone in their company had set up a new phone and account without my knowledge, just to gain commission. After about 2 hours of waiting and getting the mess straightened out over the phone, ATT wireless changed my contract back to 2008. Unfortunately, due to all of the screw ups, in order to update my phone I will have to call ATT wireless to upgrade my phone instead of ordering online. I am told I can also order at a local store, but that store will have to call ATT to verify that my contract does indeed end this month and I can upgrade my phone. What a hassle!!!!
Not only that, but they've just raised their text message rates twice in less than a year!!!
I must say, I'm very disappointed in ATT wireless at the moment and wouldn't recommend them to friends or family. The only reason I still have an account with them is because my husband is a customer and since ATT wireless doesn't charge to call other customers, it's a nice convenience for the both of us. I am planning however to drop their text messaging service, since it's about $1 to send a receive a text message. Too expensive for my taste!!!
All I can say is, ATT wireless is definitely in need of a makeover!!!!

Uhh Yeah, Okay
I'm glad I had my phone on silent at work today. Technically phones aren't even allowed at work, but because I had to get a ride from someone other than my usual ride today, I had to take my phone into work. Today after work I noticed 3 different calls from my father. I figured I'd call him back when I got home and could relax a bit but that didn't happen since he decided to show up at my doorstep instead.
And boy was he pissed! He kept yelling he was going to get rid of both of his phones because he doesn't receive calls on them. Of course this was a big hint that I hadn't called him back immediately when he called today. Funny however, because he knew I was at work and can't take calls at work. His call was not an emergency either. He just wanted a phone number that I couldn't give him. He went as far as wanting me to stop eating immediately and get him the number. I tried to explain that I was at work and can't take calls and I was eating dinner and could call him later.
Of course that didn't work, it only pissed him off more. So guess who's getting the blame if he does get rid of his phones? Me of course! Oh well. I doubt he will really get rid of them. It's just another one of his guilt trips. And in case you're wondering... Yes, my dad is always like this. Sigh.
