Win a Hybrid Car
With the economy as it is right now, it would be nice to have a vehicle that is not only reasonable on gas, but also easy on the environment. Right now Charter cable is giving away a new Honda Civic Hybrid just for registering with them or buying their services.
The only downfall to this terrific contest is, you must be in a Charter services area to win! There are no Charter services around here, so I am hoping one of my reader's wins! That would be so awesome!
Here are the Car's Details:
Polished Metal Metallic (My favorite color, damn them!)
Up to 45 mpg highway (I wish our truck would get this!)
Fabric interior (Warm in the winter and cool in the summer!)
USB Audio Interface (Nice!!!!!!)
110-hp, 8 valve, SOHC i-VTEC® 4-cylider engine (Guy Talk!)
Continuously variable transmission (See above!)
MP3 Auxiliary Input Jack (My hubby would find this cool!)
Okay, so to be honest I’ve never used Charter services and know nothing of what they are like. And as many places as I have lived, you would think, some freakin’ area would have Charter, but nope! I haven’t heard anything bad about them, however. Sooooo that’s good news!
Now, one thing. If you win, can you at least let me know. Leave a comment or something, please! I would love to know if you won the car!

Win John Chow's Stolen Cash
Don't you just love contests? I know I do. Even if I am not a winner, contests are always fun to enter. Take for instance, John Chow's post on Blog Word Expo -Win Cash Money. This is the second contest for winning cash money with him and Market Leverage. This time however, he's teaming up with JoeTech.com or maybe Joetech's teaming up with him? Hmmm.It also seems, John Chow has been up to no good for his readers by stealing money from the Cashinator when no one was looking.lol In total from all of his efforts and Joe Tech's efforts someone will be winning $67! How insane is that?
If you want in on the deal, just head over to John Chow's blog and tell him so. Then if you really want in on the deal, just blog about it.

Toilet Paper Wedding Gowns
For the past 3 years, cheapchicweddings.com has been sponsoring a toilet paper wedding gown contest. The winner of the best design gets $500. Pretty insane if you ask me! I can't wait to see 2008's creations! Now my only question would be, how did they keep the dress from falling apart?????
My Way of Advertising in a Small Town
You see, I don't live in a huge town/city like NYC. I live in a small town. Now it's not one of those one horse poe dinky towns, but it's a place where I know the radio station, newspaper, office and many of the businesses around here. So, it's not hard for me to spread the word about Market Leverage.
Plus I am in desperate need of a video camera! The ipod nano and $200 Market Leverage Amex Rewards card would be nice too. Sooo, I am crossing my fingers! I could really use the video camera!

2 Girls Plus Wrong Side of Town Equals Big Trouble
I was born and raised in a not so great neighborhood in my own hometown, so I'm used to it. My best friend however, is not. As soon as we got off of the next exit so I could turn around and get back on the right one, my friend began to panic. At first it seemed, things were not so bad and for a minute, I was able to calm her down. But then as soon as she saw a guy lying out in the middle of the street, she screamed and had the neighborhood on alert.
I ended up having to high tail it out of there because I was driving a newer model sport's car at that time. I don't think I ever heard the end of it and to this day, she still talks about that trip.lol What's even more crazy is, while she was visiting me in Las Vegas, her family and an ex, insisted that she come back immediately.lol Imagine that, a grown women being told she has to come home, right now.lol Well, at least she was able to enjoy herself with the many
Eventually I am sure my best friend and I will end up taking another road trip together. That is if our husbands will let us get away with it. Who knows, maybe we can talk them into coming with us!
In the mean time, we can always dream and ponder about where we're headed on our next road trip/vacation. I was thinking maybe California since there are plenty of things to do in Los Angeles.
Since I am not really familiar with the Los Angeles area, I thought maybe Trusted Tours & Attractions would be a great start in information for the city. They have a lot of interesting information on other great cities, as well.
I was thinking I could easily sign up for their newsletter and while I am at it, I might take a peek at the special promotion they are having right now. Right now they are offering a chance to win a a $150 itunes gift card just for signing up for their newsletter, from now until May 31st, 2008. How insane is that?
I think if my best friend and I do decide to head to Los Angeles, we might check out one of their sightseeing tours. Any suggestions?

Love in Mysterious Ways
Growing up, I never really thought much about how my parents reacted towards one another. To me they were just mom and dad. Then one day, I was away visiting family when my aunt was suddenly explaining to me that it was okay and natural for a husband and wife to be cuddling and kissing, after I had seen her brother and sister-in-law doing so in front of us.
The scene was no big deal to me and I knew it was natural. I guess she thought I would freak out because my family has never seen my parents cuddle or kiss in front of other people. That day begin to make me think about just how my parents really did react toward each other, however. I began to wonder, did they really love each other.
After that I started to pay more attention to the emotions my parents had for one another. Despite what my family didn't see, I was wittiness to my parents moments of sneaking in a hand holding or goofing off with each other with a simple giggle or pat on the leg, or simple smile at each other.
Several years prior to my aunt's conversation with me, I also remember how my father packed us all up and headed for Memphis. To my thinking it was another one of those, time to get out of the house and go on vacation moments. Most of which I dreaded because it meant long car rides and cheap motels.
Now that I think back, I know that vacation wasn't just any vacation. You see, my mother is a big fan of the legendary singer, Elvis Presley. She has every album he's ever made and her walls in their home are covered with Elvis memorabilia. Now those who are a fan of Elvis would know that he is of course from Memphis, Tennessee. My father on the other hand has never been a fan of Elvis. As a matter of fact he has never cared for his music or really liked the man.
Yet that year, he packed us all up and headed for Memphis, Tennessee to none other than Graceland, just one of the things to do in Memphis. We also stopped at the little Elvis cafe where we had our pictures taken eating ice cream and bought Elvis Presley souvenirs.
Last year, my father took my mother back to Memphis, Tennessee to none other than Graceland, of course. It was a last minute decision and certainly wasn't even planned.
Maybe my parents don't always show their love for one another in front of everyone, but my father shows his love for my mother in ways some people would never put up with. I don't know many men who would put up with Elvis all over his living room walls or hundreds of Elvis memorabilia all over the house. And I certainly don't know many men would would go as far as taking their wives to Graceland more than once in a lifetime and never asking for anything in return. To me that is the rarest love of all.
While many people may not be a fan of Elvis Presley, as I mentioned above, Graceland is just one of the many things to do in Memphis, Tennessee. If you're not sure where to start, let Trusted Tours & Attractions help you find that perfect romantic vacation. They even offer a newsletter, so you can keep track of what's new with your favorite city.
Have kids? Why not make it a family vacation with Trusted Tours & Attractions. You're sure to find some great family vacation ideas through their website or in their newsletter. The cool and insane part about signing up for a newsletter is you can win a chance at a Canon PowerShot digital camera when you do. I can already see that camera being put to use on a next vacation!!

If You Liked My Story....
.... Please vote, so that I can win. The story I am talking about is, The Road Home. I submitted it to www.scribblescratch.com in a contest she was holding last month. While I understand her reason for having everyone vote on the best story instead of her original plans of choosing a winner on her own, I am a little disappointed because it means I have to find people who liked my story in order for me to win, and I am just now finding out about the post for this. If I don't win it's not a really big deal, however. I enjoyed just writing the story itself. It would be nice to win though. :)
If you'd like to help out, you can cast your vote for me here: http://scribblescratch.com/2007/07/07/cast-your-vote/ From there scroll down and look for me as Joy Anderson. The you can mark your vote and click submit. :)
P.S Voting ends Monday July 9th!!!
