We Missed Black Friday This Year

Two of the things my husband and I wanted to do this year was a little hunting and black Friday shopping. Unfortunately due to financial circumstances that are beyond our control, neither one of us were able to do those things.

Even though Black Friday has gone, Nikon is still offering some wonderful savings on their Hunter's website. You might not be able to get Nikon Ultimate Hunter's Package Promo but, there's no reason you can't save a little money on their other specials. There is a binocular promo still going on and just think, Christmas is almost here!!!

What are you getting your hunter for Christmas? I'm not getting anything hunting related this year for the hubby unless I get a Christmas Bonus for some reason.lol But, he's all set in the musical department this year.

If I am able to buy him something that is hunting related, I know he's been looking at a crossbow and a gun cleaning kit. So there are two ideas for him. What about you guys and gals? Anyone a hunter? Any good Christmas ideas?

Hunting Season is For the Birds

My husband has been bringing up hunting a lot lately. It's one of his favorite things to do. Not too long ago we did some window shopping for Christmas ideas. A lot of his wish list has to do with hunting gear. While I'm not quite sure if Nightforce rifle scopes are legal for hunting in the state of Kansas, I think he might be interested in one just for the fun of it. Right now birds are in season, so he's been really excited about hunting lately, so I'm going to guess one of these weekends he'll be bringing home some sort of bird for Thanksgiving or Christmas!

Turkey Fun

Usually we tend to skip Thanksgiving. If you head to your local wal-mart you'll find Christmas all over the place, but very little if any, Thanksgiving products. So in honor of the missed holiday, here's a fun little game you might enjoy. And for those who are vegetarian, please remember THE TURKEYS ARE NOT REAL!!!! lol

Free Gift Card for Hunters

My husband is probably the biggest hunter there is. He would be out there 24/7 if he could. It's what makes him happy in life. Hunting and fishing. I can't see myself as a hunter, but I do love camping and fishing.

One thing my husband has taught me through his love for hunting is, you always need great hunting equipment to succeed in the game. Everything from binoculars to camouflage clothing is acceptable. When you're out there in the middle of a field, you have to be well prepared.

Binoculars like Nikon
give you the option to stay in focus on the hunt while camouflage clothing keep you in disguise. It's a matter of waiting and learning to win in the game. Yes, my husband loves talking about hunting.

What about your spouse? Are they an avid hunter who's always excited about the game or are they one who doesn't mind the sport, but doesn't care to be out there hunting 24/7. How do you feel about it?

For those who love the game of the hunt, Optics Planet is offering free $50 and $25 gift cards for several of their binocular brands, including Nixon. Well worth checking out!

Men and Their Toys

I love the night time, especially the stars in the sky. In most places at night the world seems to stop, even if it's just for a brief moment and the only thing that stands out is the night sky. It's the only placed that is not altered by this insane world. It's peaceful or at least to me it is. And the closer I get to the sky and the stars, the more peaceful and beautiful it is.

My husband however, is a different story. He's an avid hunter and while he loves the night time, he'd much rather be able to hunt at night. It's the only true time when hunting seems to be at its best. Night Vision Scopes are a great way to improve in his fun in hunting. Right now you can get free shipping on them if you're willing to spend $29.95 or more. Not a bad deal. Still, I find the night stars much more relaxing. Men and their toys.

My Husband, the Ex-Bounty Hunter

My husband is an avid hunter and at one time he did a little bit of bounty hunting. As exciting as that may seem to some people, it's not all what it's cracked up to be. Bounty Hunting can be a very dangerous job, but in the end it's worth it.

Being able to do the job also means you need to be wearing the right type of clothing. A bright orange shirt or pair of blue jeans is not only very noticeable, it's also very uncomfortable and not very convenient. When you're on the job as a bounty hunter, you generally need a lot of pocket room for various equipment.

5.11 has a nice selection of clothing that will suit in bounty hunter's need. 5.11 isn't just about the clothing, however. They have some great tactical gear as well. Right now 5.11 is offering free shipping as well as free 5.11 clothing and tactical gear with selected purchases. How insane is that?

5.11 isn't just great for bounty hunters, however. I can see avid hunters and private investigators easily shopping with 5.11 as well. Check them out. It may very well be worth your while!

Me, Myself and I... And a Gun

Yesterday was interesting. My other half is an avid hunter, so when he gets a chance he heads to the shooting range for practice. So, after learning Saturday night that he was heading to the shooting range again, I volunteered myself to go with him since I had never been before. Yes, I actually said I volunteered myself.lol

So when we finally got to the shooting range, I watched him shoot off his semi-automatic and then he decided to show me how to shoot it. At first, he went with just a single bullet. Then 2 hours later I was shooting an entire clip.

It was definitely an experience and I would go again. The only thing that irks me is he wants to choose the gun that I buy. I really have a problem with this and told him so because if I choose to own a gun, I want one that I would enjoy. One that I will handle and shoot. I still don't think he really understands that.. or maybe he does and just doesn't care.lol

Anyway, that was pretty much my day. I tried to call my kids yesterday evening. My ex did pickup the phone, but he said the kids weren't there. They were playing at a friend's house. So I asked him what time they go to bed and he said, 730pm. So I told him I'd call back before their bedtime. I called back and it went directly to the answering machine. I have not been able to talk to my kids for almost a month now! Sigh
