January Financial Update

Things have gotten a little better over the past few weeks with my online income. Unfortunately I wasn't able to add an extra payment to the credit cards because we had to buy a new vehicle for my husband to get back and forth to work with. Right now we are tightening our budget and saving money for the tags, taxes and title of his truck.

But speaking of credit cards, I did receive an interesting notice in the mail about the one card I've kept open. Apparently they've sold their accounts to another bank which makes me wonder if they went bankrupt due to the economy's stupidity.

Anyway here is my income for the first few weeks of this month.

January 1st - 15th

Payu2blog $17.50
Private Sales $320.00
Payperpost $10.00
Youdata $1.20
Socialspark $28.65
Slicethepie $2.00
Adbrite $0.00
Kontera $0.00

Total: $379.35

Update on Finances

It's been two weeks again. Wow how time flies. Here is the first two weeks for October for my online earnings. Things are getting a little better, but I just wonder how long that will actually last. I did manage to make an extra payment towards an old credit card from my past! It was more than double of the orginal payment which is great! Now the balance of that bill is at $900!

October 1st -14th

Private Sales: $246.00
Payu2blog: $15.00
Payperpost: $ 23.50
Associated Content: $1.68
Slice The Pie: $10.00
Kontera: $0.12
Adbrite: $0.00
Cashcrate: $0.84

This two weeks total is: 297.14. Not too bad. Could use a lot of improvement though.

September Financial Update

Things are getting better since I've been pulling in a little more money. Even with the loss of a certain company's sales, things are going good. I have added a new company this week called Adbrite. I've already made some sales with them which is awesome since I just started with them this month.

Here are totals for my last two weeks' of September:

September 14-30

Payu2blog $25.00
MySurvey $10.00,
Cashcrate $1.00
payperpost $52.00
SocialSpark $21.45,
Private Sales $180.00
Kontera $0.05
AdBrite $1.03

This brings the total for the two weeks to $290.53. Now while that might not be a tremendous amount of money for some people, it's really decent for me and almost as much as I made when I work at microtel here in Independence, Kansas. Plus, if the next two weeks goes really well, it will be a little bit over what I need for bills, which means I can put more towards one of the credit cards that I am aiming to pay off.

There are only two credit cards that I need to pay off and their now both under $900! The card that I used for emergencies only is no longer being used, due to the interest rates being taken out two times a month. Was this a mistake on their part? As it turns out, no. So the card is not worth keeping in my opinion. If we ever decide to get another credit card for emergencies, I'll take closer look at the fine print the next time.

Speaking of credit cards, my husband was offered one at the bank where our mortgage is. He was pre-approved for $1500.00 and the interest rate was 5.9%. That's really low and something sounded a little fishy to me, so at the time I convinced my husband that he should hold off on applying for it.

Plus, I have this fear that if he does get the card, he'll be spending the money on non-emergencies and we'll be right back to where we started. With the economy as it is, we certainly don't need any more financial debt!

BTW, if you haven't already, be sure to check out Work at Home Mom Revolution's post on: Recession-Proof Strategies for Work at Home Moms and Dads. It's scary to think just how bad this economy has gotten and that we're having to do a bail out. And what if that bail out falls through? What then?

August Financial Goals

Instead of updating once a week on my financial goals, for now I have decided to update once a month. If I have more time I might try to update twice a month, but I'm way behind on work due to this bug that I cannot seem to shake, so I need to spend time trying to get well and also concentrate on getting my income back up.

I do have the rest of August's financial goal, so I will share it with you. I want to thank those who have been visiting google ads and kontera ads. They not only help the companies who use my page, they help me in increasing my income as well. So, thank you!

Google Adsense: $0.29
Kontera Ads: $0.00
Private Sales: $56.00
PepperJam: $10.00
Payu2blog: $5.00
SocialSpark: $11.00

So for the rest of August, my profit was a total of $82.29. This is only a quarter of what I should be making a month in order to pay bills. Looks like I'm going to be looking for extra freelancing work this month if I want to catch back up and then some!

Rearranging My Blog

I decided to do some rearranging on my blog. The reason for this is because I am working towards better income since I have been working at home. Lately the problem with working at home has been lack of jobs and loss of work due to my personal life. Now that everything is back on track I am hoping to increase my income goal.

One big problem I have however, is that I've noticed my Google PR has dropped. As a matter of fact it went from a PR of a 3 to a 0 in just a few days. Around the same time I also went from about 50,000 backlinks to over a million backlinks in a few days.

The first thing I checked was to see if I am banned from google. I'm not. So then I checked bad backlinks and links who have been banned from google. There were no banned links and only a few bad backlinks that I removed. So now I am stumped. I am wondering if I was spammed. I guess I need to check and see if I was, somehow.

Now some may say to not worry so much about Page Rank with google. In the past it wouldn't have been so much of a worry. But lately, every company is basing money and whether or not a blog gets an opportunity by page ranks. So no page rank means no income for many sites in payperpost, payu2blog and even private sales.

So right now it's been a struggle and I'm trying to figure out how to work through it.

In the meantime, I have rearranged google adsense ads which seems to be doing a little better. Kontera ads are still doing badly, but I have learned that their site is down. Also, I am not thrilled with PepperJam Ads. So far even with all of the clicks I have had from visitors, the companies are not allowing me to profit from them when they are based on traffic not sales.

So as Scrooge says, "Bah Humbug!"

An Update On My Goal

I haven't had much time to really update my blog or do any work online, due to a tragic death in the family and my birthday being yesterday. Unfortunately this put me behind, so I may be working a lot of hours in the near future unless I get some outstanding paying jobs.

Here is an update on what I have been making. Obviously my goal has not been made for the credit card payment this month and I won't be making an extra payment towards it. I will have to try again for next month.

Update on my Goals

Its been a busy past few days since the kids start school tomorrow. There is a meet the teachers at school, so we're headed to that today and then after that, there is a back to school event going on at the park.

Before I head out, however. I wanted to share an update on my goals. I had about $40 saved for an extra payment towards the credit cards, but I had to use it for today's school events, bathroom pvc pipes to repair the kids bathroom and pvc thread tape to repair the pipe in our own bathroom. Then my husband needed money for drinks at work. The good news is I still have about $15 left, so it's going directly to the savings account I recently opened.

Here's a quick update of my income lately:

August 6th
Private Sales: $50.00
Google Adsense: $3.98
SocialSparks: $10.91
Kontera Ads: $0.00

August 7th

August 10th

It's been an impressive week, especially for Google adsense! I hope that it continues to be!

An Update on my Goals

I managed to make an extra payment towards one of the credit cards I am paying off. Because of the extra payment, That will bring the credit card to exactly $800. I am hoping to be able to pay more towards that credit card, next month.

Also, I was able to put $25 back to a new savings account for emergency funds. I might also have enough to buy a lawn mower for the yard, this Friday.

We finished all of the school supply shopping today for my husband's children. So that takes care of all of the kids. It's been a great day!

Here are the latest break downs of what I am making online to help pay the bills and make my goals. As always, thank you to those who have been visiting ads from google adsense. Every little bit makes me one step closer to paying off the debt and buying a car.

Update on My Goal

Well, I am behind again, but at least I have been working towards my goals. If you're not familiar with what I am doing, I want to pay off the credit card debt I have and buy a car. Those are my main goals. I have other financial goals as well, but those are the first on the list. Unfortunately there were days I wasn't able to work at enough money to put towards my goals. However, there were other days where I made more than enough to put towards my goals. So in the end, it all equaled out. I would like to put more towards the goals to get them paid off faster, but that's another story, another day.

In the mean time, to solve the problem of my hubby not wanting to budget, I am just paying the bills as I get them. So far he's doing good with putting the amount needed for the house in the savings account. :)

An Update on My Goal

I am a bit behind on updating my goal. I actually have about 3 days worth of online work. I worked for an hour on the weekends just to catch up for last Thursday. I am no longer in need of help with my kids. I want to thank everyone who contributed with helping my kids. As of now I am working towards two goals. One is to pay off two credit cards and the other is to save for a car. I'm not even sure which one to start with first. I'll need a car since I am headed back to Oklahoma in September/October for a court date for my kids.

But the credit card I used for emergencies is still claiming an over the limit fee. This means I will have to make a $125 payment this month instead of the usual $40. I had used the card to put the car rental on because they wanted to hold way too much money back from our checking account. This was still an enterprise thing from when I picked up my son. What enterprise did not bother to tell me is that they hold the same amount on my credit card and didn't return it in time, so the credit card charged an over the limit fee. So, after I pay the card's balance back up, I am officially closing that account. I can live without the credit card. Emergency or not.

An Update on My Kids

Generally I don't work over the weekend, but I had some free time and I knew I needed the extra money for my kids, so I am giving an update for Just 19th. It isn't much, but every little bit helps. I am hoping things will really pick up this week since I am not out of the clear. We'll see I guess.

Thursday we are headed back to Oklahoma to take my oldest son home. I am really not looking forward to him leaving. The bad news is, I was told my other two children would be able to come down to visit, but due to my middle aged son being grounded for calling an adult a name, he and his younger brother are not allowed to come and visit me before school starts. Sigh.

Google Adsense VS. Kontera and What John Chow Said

Google Adsense in total has made me $54.54 and I have been with them since last August. The downside to this is, I'll need a minimum of $100 before I can cash it out. Kontera in total has made me $2.01. I started working with them about a month ago.

It's not a good as google adsense, but in the long run I wonder if they'll both do equally good. I know that keywords are a big money maker when it comes to google adsense and I am now wondering if Kontera is the same way. Keywords haven't really been my strong point, but then again, I haven't really sat down and researched it either. I mean what do you come up with as far as good keywords? There are really no good Kontera tutorials that I know of at the moment that can help increase revenue.

John Chow said not to put all of your eggs in one basket and he makes a really great point. Which is exactly why I have both Google Adsense and Kontera on my blog.

Eventually I'd like to expand, but until my blog is up there with the big dogs, there's not much I can do at this point.

Kontera VS. Google Adsense

Since they are both up for an update, I thought I would share my earnings with Kontera and Google Adsense. In reality I love them both, but lately google adsense has been earning me more money than kontera. While I can't show it this week because I was behind on posting this, I made around $1.13 with google adsense last week. With Kontera I made a whopping $0.01.

I really doubt the low amount from Kontera has anything to do with them. I just need to sit down and learn how to increase ads for better revenue with Kontera. I must admit, Google Adsense isn't doing too shabby at all. This week alone I've had over 300 visitors and I am showing a revenue of $0.43. Hey, I know it's chump change for a lot of you out there, but that chump change all adds up for those of us who are looking to get out of debt and could really use the money!!

Kontera Giveth Then Taketh Away

About a week ago I was excited about the ad revenue program, Kontera. Now I am not so sure. Today when I looked at my ad earnings, I was minus 3 cents and 1 click than before. They just simply disappeared, so what gives? 3 cents might not be a lot , but it does all add up in the end and if they're taking away 1 click, what's to stop them from taking more without any explaination?

I'm leaving this one up in the open since I am not sure why the reason was they removed that click, but if it happens again and they're response isn't a reasonable one, I will probably remove kontera from my ad revenue list.
