Dreams and Migraines

Apparently last night's stressful events (I won't go into details) is causing a severe migraine headache today. I've found that the only thing that works for my headaches is Excedrin for migraine, but I don't like taking any medications unless I necessarily have to. I am wondering if there are some alternatives to take medications for a migraine headache. If I have some time today, I may do some research on Migraines. If anyone else who has experienced migraines and found some great alternatives to them... I'd love to hear about it!

Also, I had a weird dream last night. It involved my husband's dad and wanting someone (I thought it was my husband, but now I am not so sure)to join the merchant marines. I wouldn't even know anything about the merchant marines except I was watching a movie called, "The Cutting Edge" last night that mentioned them in it. My father-in-law was insistent that the someone join the merchant marines because the job I had just wasn't enough. I was insistent that he not go because I would not see him for almost a year and military changes a man for the worse. He becomes angry and violent. I had pointed out that our best friend was married to a marine and he became physically violent. They also never saw one another.

Then another part of my dream involved water and a beach/park and a snake that was poisonous. I was telling my husband about the snake that I knew was poisonous and tried to strike me. My husband argued that his ex-wife said the snake was not poisonous or the type of snake I had mentioned that it was. A complete stranger ended up getting struck by that snake instead of me(I'm think she intervened with me and the snake) , who we later became friends with. The park compensated her with about $7000 in money and free passes to the park/beach.

It's a Monday Morning and All Really Isn't Well.

Generally, monday mornings are great. However, I have a feeling today is going to be a pretty insane day for me. The reason is, I only had one day off before I had to go back to work and I didn't get much sleep last night. When I don't get sleep, I've noticed lately that my body reeks havoc on me and I wind up getting a migraine headache.

The first time I noticed the pattern, I didn't have any migraine medicine. Today, I brought some with me, just in case. I haven't studied much about migraines so I am wondering if it is simply because I haven't had much sleep or if something else is going on.

Well, at least my day off turned out kind of nice. We actually we to a friend's house after work for a barbecue, and then Sunday we helped that friend's parents move some furniture. In return, they took us to dinner. We ended up going to the QQ Chinese Buffet here in Independence, KS. Not one of my favorite places to go, but it wasn't as bad as the last time we went either.

My Dearest Hubby

Thank you so much for keeping me up last night. 6 hours of asleep is not good when you are starting another job. On top of that, I had to hurry through my breakfast this morning because you were complaining, so I dump most of my breakfast in the trash. I managed a migraine throughout the day because of it. Almost barfed this morning from lack of food and then to top it all of, you never called me during lunch break.

Sooo, I ended up walking 3.3 miles home from work and I still have that damned migraine. Ohh and that cats ate the kids' easter candy and I ended up cleaning up cat puke from the floor. Sooo all in alll. Smile baby, because my day was PEACHY KEEN.

An Experience with Migraines

When it comes to experiencing a migraine, I'm definitely no stranger to the matter. I've had my fair share of migraine headaches and I know how they can knock you down. The last one I experienced was due to the change in my routine. It happened when I started working with the company I am with now. That was several months ago and thankfully I haven't had one since then.

I know however that migraines can get very serious. If you're one who has migraines on a weekly or more basis and you live near the NY area.... The NY Headache Center can help. They have alternative ways of helping with migraines... without the use of medications. I wish I had known about this place when I lived on the east coast!!

At any rate, even if you don't live near the NY area, it doesn't hurt to check them out. Maybe they can recommend some form of migraine help in your own area.

Update on Caffeine

I've been doing a little research on my problem with caffeine and I've come to two conclusions.

The first being, the numbness could be brought on my migraines. However, I never experience a migraine or any sort of headache after the numbness. So I think I can safely assume that this is not the case.

The second, I may very well be allergic to caffeine in a small way. This is more likely, but I haven't found much information as far as allergies being related to numbness in the face.

I think I have come to the conclusion that I am just very sensitive to caffeine. So far I've only found that coffee and Excedrin cause the problem. I can have tea and chocolate and not have this problem. I can't count anything else since those are the only other forms of caffeine that I indulge in. No, I don't drink soda. I've never liked the taste of the stuff. Surprised? Probably not, but it really doesn't matter!

If anyone else have ever experienced the same problem I have with caffeine, feel free to let me know! I would love some insight on this matter!

Keeping Up with Me, Myself and I....

Last night I decided to get ahead of myself on article writing. I was so proud of myself.. despite the cranky side effects I was experiencing. Then this morning I woke up feeling blah. Thinking it would go away, I attempted to get online and do some research. After about 30 minutes I my blah feeling went into migraine plus nauseous mode. Soo offline I went and now I am back and back to square one with writing. Sigh. Can't get ahead even with work.

Simple things like that usually try to get the best of me, but I try not to let them. It's hard at times, however. When little things like that happen I look at what I've already accomplished and then look at what I'd like to accomplish.

For instance, while I really enjoy freelancing, what I would like to do is write a novel. I actually have a few I am working on, but time is limited at the moment and I'm also a big procrastinator.lol If and when I have a little spare time I will probably begin to work on my novel again. I love writing. I enjoy getting paid for it too, but more so I just enjoy writing and love seeing my name published. I enjoy what readers have to say about my work (good or bad) and I never judge anyone for their opinions.

For me writing is a way of getting away from everyday life. It's a way of expressing my feelings and turning a negative into a positive. If I can make a little money doing so, then great!

Writing is a passion and fuels the heart and feeds the soul... Without it the flame in us dies and our emotions are never truly expressed. Make sense?
