I woke up this morning in pain and not sure why. There was a piercing pain through my midsection both front and back. It lasted for a few hours, but has calmed down a little now. If it continues it's probably a good idea to see a doctor. However, it's a tough call since I don't currently have insurance and can't get it. They did recently open a free clinic, so if I need to I guess I'll just drop by there. I'll keep you updated if the pain continues.
Meanwhile, as many of you may already know I like keeping up with blogger John Chow. If you're unfamiliar with who he is, he's the blogging guru who took a risk and decided to try making money online with his blog. Well, it worked and now he's known all over the world for his success.
Today I was reading one of his posts about sponsored tweets. Apparently he's made $1,000 with them in about a month's time. Damn, the man is good!
While I'm not as active as I used to be with tweeting on twitter, I've realized I miss slowing down and smelling the cappuccinos, fresh baked bread and freshly bathed babies. Of course I've already been missing out in twittering because I actually could have been twittering my way out of this economy with another way to make income. Damn it.
Well, that's what I get for not keeping up with my social clubs. I just hope you're not doing the same. I'll let you know how sponsored tweets is going when I have something to report. I think someone needs to just kick me in the ass and say hey, get busy, life isn't going to stop for you. Time to hop on that train and kick myself in the ass.lol

Stretching Ourselves Thin
The last several weeks have been very busy for us. More so for my husband. It's been five years since he's had glasses and he finally broke down and went to the eye doctor about it. As it turns out his prescription hasn't changed, but he did need a new pair of glasses. His lenses were a smokey white and that is definitely not normal! So he has a pair on order that should be in this week or next.
Another thing that he did was visit the dentist. The news was not good and he'll need to have surgery to remove his wisdom teeth sometime this year. I honestly don't know how we're going to be able to accomplish all of this. This month alone we're planning a trip to Oklahoma and a trip to Mead Kansas for the holidays. And then he'll either have to go to Bartlesville, Oklahoma for the surgery or Wichita, Kansas.
To make matters worse he didn't get last week's paycheck because of some holiday screw up at work, so we've been broke for a while now and I won't get paid until next week, if then. So, it's going to be a very busy and insane month for everyone here!

Eyes
Today was just one of those crazy days. First we had an appointment for hubby's son for the eye doctor. As it turns out, he will need glasses because he is far sided. So, we've ordered a pair of frames that should look be here within the week. But, the interesting thing was the fact that his daughter's glasses could possibly be incorrect.
Originally we thought maybe wal-mart was at fault since this was where her glasses were ordered, but as it turns out, they're not. We were also told her eyesight will not get any better, sadly. The reason for the glasses is to prevent her eyesight from getting worse.
I was actually surprised because the hubby actually made an appointment for himself for next month, which will be interesting since he has to have is eyes dilated and won't be able to drive.

A Good Glass of Wine
From time to time, my mother-in-law loves a good glass of red wine. She says her doctor even approves of it, claiming it's good for her. I have heard that a glass of wine now and again can be good for you, but I'm not a big drinker, so I'll leave that knowledge to those who are fond of the stuff.
Gold Medal Wine allows wine lovers like my mother-in-law, to experience their love for wine through their wine of the month club. The great thing about Gold Medal Wine is there are no fees to join their club and, you can cancel at any time.
I can see the wine club being a great way to share as a gift for Christmas or almost any holiday. Check them out.

When Schools Go Too Far
I was viewing a recent reader's post when it reminded me of one of our local school's and our recent dealings with them.
A few months ago I received a call from my fiance's daughter's school. She was sick they said and I needed to pick her up. I knew she was getting over a cough which we'd been taking care of at home, so I set out thinking her cough had just gotten worse. When I arrived at the school, I
was told she was running a 106 temperature. 106??? I panicked (more so because of the time's peanut butter scare) and then became outraged that the school had not bothered to tell me this over the phone. Then I looked at her and checked her forehead. She felt a little warmer than usual, but not a concerned 106. After questioning why they had not told me this over the phone and then asking if they were sure the temperature was right (they argued it was and the principal went as far as saying he wanted to speak with my fiance) I quickly called my fiance and his daughter's doctor so that we could rush her in as an emergency appointment. While waiting for my fiance to get home, I checked her temperature myself with two different thermometers
just to make sure. 98 was what I got for both. Between the time my fiance made it home and we made it in to the doctor to have her checked was about 20 minutes from the time we left the school. Now keep this in mind folks.
After the doctor had checked her he came up with the same results I did. 98. Then we asked how the school nurse could have came up with 106. He said he didn't know, but there was no way her temperature could have been 106 and dropped that drastically even if she's had tylenol
or any liquids(I never gave her anything). It might have been a little higher because of her cough, but not 106! Then he went on to tell my fiance about his kids going to the same school and being sent home with an exaggerated temperature. So we asked for a doctor's note to explain that her temperature was fine, but to keep her out for the remainder of the day since she did have a cough.
When we returned to the school with the note and asked to speak with both the principal and the nurse we were told they were not there. Then when we explained what the doctor had noted, the secretary mumbled she couldn't talk about the situation, but would let the nurse and principal know. Then she went on to say I had to have given her something to drop the temperature! When I explained I hadn't and even if I had the time frame could still not have dropped the temperature that drastically, she argued with my fiance and I. So we simply told her to have the principal confirm it with the doctor since he was the one who confirmed it. She stopped arguing and went on to again say, she couldn't talk about the situation. Sigh.
We checked back Monday to speak to the nurse and principal. No nurse and no principal. For a principal who insists on speaking with my fiance, he sure wasn't around anytime my fiance asked to see him. After another failed attempt a few days later, we finally gave up.
Now we are slowly learning from other parents who have came out of the woodwork, we are not the only ones whose child has been sent home for an exaggerated temperature. We are very sure the school's thermometers
are off, but will the school listen? Nope.
So to all those schools who we understand are concerned about our children's well-being and we love you for it... If you get a situation like the one above, please check your equipment. If it had been a real situation with faulty equipment, there's no telling what the outcome may have been!
