The last several weeks have been very busy for us. More so for my husband. It's been five years since he's had glasses and he finally broke down and went to the eye doctor about it. As it turns out his prescription hasn't changed, but he did need a new pair of glasses. His lenses were a smokey white and that is definitely not normal! So he has a pair on order that should be in this week or next.
Another thing that he did was visit the dentist. The news was not good and he'll need to have surgery to remove his wisdom teeth sometime this year. I honestly don't know how we're going to be able to accomplish all of this. This month alone we're planning a trip to Oklahoma and a trip to Mead Kansas for the holidays. And then he'll either have to go to Bartlesville, Oklahoma for the surgery or Wichita, Kansas.
To make matters worse he didn't get last week's paycheck because of some holiday screw up at work, so we've been broke for a while now and I won't get paid until next week, if then. So, it's going to be a very busy and insane month for everyone here!

Time for the Eye Doctor Again
Last night my husband mentioned that his daughter's eye doctor appointment is coming up soon. Usually when she has her yearly eye doctor appointment, we get her new glasses. Even though we generally get her glasses through her doctor office, I am beginning to wonder whether it would be cheaper to check with places like ZenniOptical.com.

Zenni has glasses starting at $8 with free options like scratch resistant lenses. Something any child could definitely use. Zenni cuts out the middle man, so maybe that's why they're so cheap. Apparently the company has been getting some positive reviews because the latest is: Zenni on Fox. Fame can be good! Kind of like when I got my short break on CNN's website.
What do you think? Would you rather buy glasses face to face or if you can find them cheaper, would you buy them online?

Glasses on a Tight Budget
It's been a long time since my husband has had new glasses and I know he's due up for a pair very soon. I wonder what sort of frames he will get next? With finances the way they are at the moment, looking for the best reasonable frames is a must. Places like zennioptical.com have some really nice frame selections and they don't charge an arm and a leg for them either. Kinda nice since the budget is very tight. The good news is, my husband has a good eyewear prescription plan at work, so that will definitely help keep our finances in check. The only downside is, they only pay up to so much.

Kids and Glasses
I don't think his son will have a need for designer style eyeglasses from LBW eyewear right now, but maybe dad wouldn't mind a pair. They have some really cute eyeglasses and even some cute sunglasses. All of their eyeglasses come with free a anti-scratch and uv coating, free lens cleaning cloth and case and even a warranty for you glasses. How insane is that?
Worried about prices? I saw that they have several pairs of eyeglasses for under $20! There's even a pair that are very similar to what the Harry Potter character wears!

Cheap Eyes!!!!
Both my husband and step-daughter wear glasses. Every time we visit the eye doctor to get new glasses we spend anywhere from $200 or more per a visit for new glasses and a case. While the store my husband uses does gives away the case when you buy a pair of glasses, they certainly don't offer $8 for complete prescription eyeglasses like Great Discovery: www.ZenniOptical.com does!
I am honestly not sure how they can offer such a low price, but it's definitely worth checking into.

More On Eye Care
The Eye Digest would once again like readers to know how important eye care is. If you remember my last post about Eye Digest, then you'll remember that I mentioned Lasik Surgery. It's not something I've had done myself, but only because I was examined and told I didn't need it. I do however recommend Lasik Surgery and I believe The Eye Digest is a great place to learn more about LASIK.
What is Lasik Surgery? Lasik is a refractive surgery procedure that reshapes the cornea, resulting in better to perfect vision.
If you wear glasses and are looking for a way to get rid of those glasses without having to wear contacts, then Lasik Eye Surgery may be the right choice for you. Even if you don't have to wear glasses, Lasik Surgery may be an option if your eyesight needs correction.
Before you decided however, there are some pros and Cons to Lasik Surgery.
Depending on your before eyesight, Lasik Surgery could allow you to achieve 20/20 vision or even 20/40 vision. However, there is also no guarantee that you will achieve perfect vision.
In rare cases, the Lasik procedure could result in loss of vision, double vision, loss of nighttime vision and severe dry eye syndrome.
Also keep in mind that the cost can be very expensive. Depending on the surgeon's qualifications, the cost can be around $1000 or more per an eye. Please do not think that a really cheap discount for this surgery can be a great alternative. While this may not always be the case, so-called surgeons offering an extreme price reduction in this type of surgery are often not qualified to perform the procedure. This can be very dangerous for both you and your eyes! Do Your Homework, first!
If you're still interested in Lasik Eye Surgery, great! Check out The Eye Digest to find out more information about LASIK.
There you will find some very informative information on the subject as well as, videos, and what you should expect before, during and after the procedure.
Be informed, be knowledged, learn everything about Lasik Surgery with The Eye Digest.
Would I get Lasik Surgery if I did ever need it, or recommend it to a friend? Absolutely! As long as you are informed and know what's involved, then why not? Seeing is a beautiful thing!

The Importance of Your Eyes
As a child I was told I needed glasses in order to see far distances. After grade school my glasses were broken by several classmates and I never wore glasses again. A few years ago I considered having lasik surgery on my eyes. I went as far as having my eyes examined only to discover that I did not need lasik eye surgery. The doctor went on to say that as I age and everyone is in bi-focals I will have 20/20 vision. That of course is great news!
Unfortunately not everyone will hear news like that and that is where Aging Eye's Eye Digest steps in. Aging Eye's Eye Digest Is an informative digest that wants you to be aware of aging eye diseases and how important it is to know about them. An aging eye disease doesn't care about it's victims, it can affect both the young and old and result in loss of vision.
Aging Eye's Eye Digest provides readers with information on Macular Degeneration, Dry Eye, Glaucoma, and Cataract. You can also find information on symptoms, treatment and even new developments on each of the diseases. Eye Digest also provides information on Lasik and financial aid if it is needed.
If you have children, you'll want to check out the section about pediatric eye care. There you will find information about Amblyopia(also known as "Lazy Eye"), treatment options and why it's important to have it treated before the age of 5.
I can't believe how informative The Eye Digest is. I don't think there is any stone left unturned. They've covered it all. If you're not concerned you really should be. The number of aging eye diseases could very well double in the next 30 years! If you're not concerned for yourself, please take a look for your children.
