Fast Forward

She screamed. The hand clamped tighter around her mouth. “Shh. Do you want him to find us?”

She knew that voice, heard it somewhere before, except he’d been talking about cheap auto insurance. A commercial? She tried to shake her head. That couldn’t be right. Something about a taxi. Taxi? Damn. Why couldn’t she remember anything?

“Stop squirming.”
He said. Had she been?

If It's Worth it

Some cheap auto insurance may be worth it if you need full coverage. But lately many people have resorted to straight liability since it saves a ton of money, especially when you own an older vehicle like my husband and I do.

Currently we have 3 vehicles, but one is not covered by insurance since it's tagged as off-road. Then there's the husband's truck that does run and my van. If it ever came down to having to sell one of the vehicles I'm pretty sure the van would be the first to go, even though the truck won't hold our entire family. My husband can be pretty stubborn headed at times and to him a truck is a must have to haul his fishing and camping gear, even if it means there's just not enough room for everyone to ride in it. And the third vehicle is a family heirloom, which I must agree should stay that way. So if that time ever comes we may very well end up walking to wherever we need to go!

Just me Rambling

If you've ever been in a car accident then you know how worrisome they can be. You worry whether everyone is okay in both vehicles and then you worry about how bad the damage is on your vehicle and theirs. And finally, you worry if your car insurance is going to skyrocket because of the accident. I've been in enough accidents to know how nerve wracking they can be. I think the worst was when the car hydroplaned and a pool stick came 2 inches from killing me. Yep, a true story.

One of the first things I noticed when my husband got his new truck was the major fender dent on the driver side of the vehicle. It had been made from the previous owner and I wonder what went through their mind when the accident happened. And then it dawned on me that they had obviously never had the damage repaired.

So I wonder did they not have the right cover to fix the damage or maybe they were at fault and the insurance company refused to repair it. Or could it have just been that they blew the money on what they considered to be more important matters rather than taking it to an auto body repair shop. We will probably never know and I'm sure in their mind it just means it's something they no longer have to worry about.

Truck Upgrades

One of the things that my husband eventually wants to do is fix his truck. Right now it's more of a work truck than anything and gets him from point A to point B. When the time is right, he wants to upgrade with a new engine and a new body. I'm sure that there are other things he also wants to do to the truck.

One of the many parts that my husband may be interested in for his truck is the
audi turbo from turbocharger pros. I also noticed that they have several other parts available as well. The best part is they have free ground shipping for any order! I love free shipping.

It's not easy to find free shipping on auto parts and not without having a minimum order and I'm sure you'll agree. So for guys, it's a great treat!

I really don't know how soon my husband will be able to start working on his truck, but by the time he does, he'll have so many great places to shop at and options to choose from! It's great!!!

The Increasing Cost of Insurance and Taxes in Independence, Kansas

As of our last renewal date, our insurance increased. This concerns me because prior we had a really great friend who worked for the insurance company that we deal with. Now that she is no longer working there, she is unable to help us specifically with the higher cost of our home and auto rates.

And while the owner is still there, it is often difficult to work with him because he doesn't always understand what we need no matter how clear we make it. So I'm wondering if we'll need to look elsewhere for cheap auto insurance in the near future.

I think the reason the insurance has gone up is because this city and county continues to raise taxes. We learned not too long ago that it is cheaper to live in northern Kansas or northern Oklahoma than to live here.

In northern Oklahoma a friend of my husband's is paying $284 a year in taxes on a $100,000 home and $44 a year for taxes on a 2000 vehicle! That's insane compared to the $1220 a year we pay on our $60,000 home and $56 a year in taxes on the hubby's 1979 vehicle!!!

Quote Comparing

We have always been a client of a locally owned insurance company here in town. Since a good friend of ours works there, we generally get the best, when it comes to auto insurance quotes. At times however, I wonder if we can do better.

Right now we're paying around $30.00 for straight liability insurance. It's on my husband's old 79' Chevy truck. While that's really good for the vehicle he has, soon we'll be getting another vehicle to house all of the kids, and I wonder if it will make an extreme increase in our insurance coverage.

2insure4less.com is a really neat site. I can go there and compare auto insurance quotes for free. I love being able to compare. You can also compare other types of insurance quotes, such as, health, life, homeowners, disability and more. A pretty nifty site that costs you absolutely nothing to check out!
