Forgotten

He needed to find a forgotten piece of real estate in louisville ky. It would be the last place she would think to find him. Thirty years of fucking hell. It was time to end it.

Once he had his place, he could focus on his next step. To kill the bitch. Then he could live in piece, make a life for himself. A real life. He smiled at that thought for a moment, but then frowned.

Even if he killed her, he would never really have a life. He was a creature of the night and no mortal would accept him for who he was and never will.

She Said Yes

This is the best video I have ever seen, aside from my kiddo's and really made me smile. Congrats to them both!

Perfection isn't Wonderful

Whoever said that perfection is a wondrous thing has never met a real woman. Today as I tried to relax in the bathtub(made it 2 minutes before the first knock on the bathroom door came!), I took a good long look at all of the new scars that have suddenly and not so suddenly invaded by skin.

First there are the tiny blood vessels, mostly on my upper left thigh. And then there are the stretch marks that have left their marks from pregnancy. All the way from my tummy to my hips and thighs. And finally there are permanent razor burn looking dots all over my legs which do nothing at all for my already dry skin. And then I realized, I am far from perfect. Yet, these are the scars that prove I exist in this insane world and that I have lived life.

While not every mark has to be left in order to prove that we exist, not ever little
imperfection means that we are less than perfect either. For me, I would much rather have lived than look like a plastic doll that had no life at all.

Real Beauty

One of the main reasons I signed up to be a part of the blog for a year campaign is to begin my website and dream in helping those who suffer with low self-esteem. Well, today I found my chance to advance in that dream/goal.

Dove Beauty is allowing women to host workshops that encourage girls to better their self-esteem.

A few minutes ago, I signed up for the workshop and DVD/CD that will allow me to help others with low self-esteem issues. I truly believe this is the start I am looking for. It actually takes a few months for the DVD/CD to arrive, but once it does, I want to talk to our local high school here about hosting a workshop for the girls here. If that goes well, I'd like to host workshops for the other high schools in our area. I also want to start an online blog for all of this. I am really excited about this project. I believe this could be a start of something awesome. To better our outlook at true beauty. I have so many other ideas about this project that it's almost unreal! I can't wait to get started!

If you're interested in hosting your own Dove Beauty Workshop check out their page at: Campaign For Real Beauty. If you do decide to host a workshop I would love to know about it! By the way, in case you're wondering, it's all free. :)

Get A Real Job!

How many times have you heard the title line repeated to you? I know I've heard it more than once and it gets very tiring. At one point I thought I was alone, but then I read posts like Deborah's Working at home: It’s not all jammies and bon bons and I am reminded of how many other freelance writers have to put up with the same thing I do. Over and Over again. Whether your friends or family have told you to your face to get a real job or they just assume you can automatically drop whatever you're doing to tend to their needs, YOU'RE NOT ALONE!

Until recently, my husband had a really bad habit of assuming that I am available to do anything since I work at home. It took me having a nervous breakdown and him having to scramble to find a babysitter to realize that I'm not. Now I'm not sure if his new way of thinking will last forever, but at least I got him to listen and understand that my job is very real. Even if it's just a one time deal!
