A lot of Hard Work
However, as I stressed, with a lot of hard work and some patience, you will see results soon enough. And even if those results aren't big, don't sweat it. Even small steps lead to bigger ones in the end. But the one thing you should always remember, even after you lose the weight, there's no going back to your old lifestyle. That is unless you want to start the weight loss process all over again!

Yesterday
I'd gotten no more than 3 blocks when the back of my calves really started burning to the point I could barely walk. By the time I got a block away from my targeted destination I was sitting down for a few minutes to relieve the pain.
Sitting worked fine for a few, but then after the next block my calves were burning and in pain again until I was able to sit down for about 10 minutes. Then on my way back home everything was fine. No more pain except for a blister on the bottom of my foot that has now went away.
In fact, I figured I would be in a lot of pain from pushing myself yesterday, but nope. Just goes to show how long it's been since I've really did any serious walking. I'd planned on walking again today, but ugggghhh the weather is wet and cold.

An Exercise I can't Give Up
Ironically however, one exercise that many people do find boring and I really enjoy is, walking. I enjoy it because there's always something great to explore or discover on a walk. Whether it's a simple walk or even a hike, I love it. But as I discovered yesterday, I am very much out of shape even when it comes to that! And that my friends just goes to show I need to just get out and walk more, which I will be doing!

Some Changes in Life
However, today I didn't do either. Instead I overslept, skipped breakfast and skipped my workout. I wasn't really busy either, that was the sad part of it. It was because my husband was home. He's not fond of smoothies (not that I'm asking him to drink any of them) and he most certainly told me, Hell, No when I mentioned getting tofu for my smoothies today.lol So I fear he'll laugh and grumble about my workout adventure as well.
I guess he's in somewhat of a cranky mood because he's actually talking about giving up smoking. I think the earth stood still when he announced that.

We Have the Power
Need help? Don't just grab the nearest appetite susspresant or diet pill you can find. Instead, grab a friend, your spouse or even a family member who is willing to push you to be your very best. And if you can afford to do so, hire a trainer even if it's only once a week. There's nothing like great food and a fantastic workout to get your energy up and your body in great shape!

Working on My Back
Lately my back has been in serious pain. To try and help the problem I started doing yoga, but after a while I slowed down because I get easily bored with the same workout routine over and over. That's why I wouldn't mind a gym membership so I can workout on different equipment. Or maybe investing in some home equipment like an elliptical.
However, right now we simply can't afford a gym membership or any kind of extreme workout equipment, so I'll continue to look for different exercises for my back. A twitter mom suggest doing some form of pilates so I was thinking of looking into that.

Watching My Health
Lately I have been doing a lot of research on vitamins and minerals and how they can affect your health. For instance, did you know that not all vitamins and minerals are real? Many of the cheap ones that we buy to save money, actually contain chemicals and other additives that are not good for our bodies.
So, since I have started the research, my eyes have been open to a whole new world. I've been doing better and watching what I've been eating and I've been exercising more with walking and yoga.
One of the problems that I found out I had later in life is a heart murmur. While it can be common it a lot of people it does cause concern for me since I've been having a lot of chest pain lately and heart disease runs in my family. So, when I do anything beyond normal walking, I am extremely out of breath. Even 5 minutes of yoga will leave me gasping for air.
Sometimes when I can hear and feel my heart rate shoot up, I'm able to count how fast my heart is beating. Other times I can't even tell, even when I check for a pulse on my neck or wrist. It's just very faint and not really there.
One of the products I just discovered is what's known as a pulse oximeter. This little gadget can tell you how fast your pulse is beating per a minute. Neat idea and great for anyone wanting to keep an eye on their heart rate before and after working out!
The only downfall I saw was the price. I don't know too many people who would be willing to spend nearly $200 for one of those little gadgets! They do have one for less than $50 which is better as far as price range, but if you're on a budget like me, you'll probably be thinking twice on purchasing one! Still, it's a cool idea, especially if you're able to afford one.

Strengthening My Back and Taking Out the Garbage
A few years ago I was working as a CNA and because I was told to do an entire floor by myself, I ended up lifting a person that was more weight than I could manage and it did something to my back.
I have not been to a doctor about it because I cannot afford insurance and the time has elapsed for my husband to put me on his at work. So I've been dealing with the pain. There are times when it's very hard though. I can be doing something as simple as changing the trash bag in the trash can and it will put my back in severe pain.
So, this past week I was in pain again. Instead of baring through it, I went online and looked up exercise for strengthening my back. Of course yoga wasn't the only exercise there was for it, but since it's the only one that does not require tons of expensive workout equipment, I decided to give it a try. And like I said, Wow. It's been great! So I will continue to strengthen that area and hopefully it will improve.
I am also considered eating a little better. Lately, I've been eating tons of junk food. I can definitely tell a difference at how my body has been reacting just from the breakouts on my face and the sluggishness in my body! I've had very little energy and it's wearing me down inside and out. So I think it's time to take out the garbage and get my body back into a healthier shape.
What do you think? Any suggestions, ideas that work for you?

Working Out is Absolutely Worth It!
If you're familiar with my blog, then you probably already know how much I am for exercising and eating right, verses taking diet pills. Unfortunately now that the winter season is vastly approaching, many of us will probably exercise less do to the cold winter months outdoors.
You don't always have to exercise outdoors, however. Working out indoors can be just as effective and fun. I found that out just a few days ago when I got off of my butt and started strengthening my back using some yoga techniques. It was awesome and afterward I felt great!
Getting in shape doesn't always have to mean heading to the gym either. While I wouldn't mind going to a gym, I really can't afford the monthly fees at the moment, and having people follow me all over the building who ask if they can help you every five minutes is just not my idea of fun.
So for now I'm going to be working out indoors. Okay, so if you're anything like me the same old exercise can get really boring. Well, XFLOWSION is making workouts a little less boring with a variety of martial arts, power yoga and dance techniques. How insane is that?
I checked out their website and I love their DVDs. The idea of dancing, doing yoga and martial arts all in one workout sounds like so much fun and not so boring as most common workout videos. I'll probably end up ordering the DVDs unless my visitors decide to order by going through the SUPPORT MY SPONSOR link below. Then I have a chance at getting the DVDs for free, which I would love!
Either way, I'll share with you how things are going. They're about $20 per a DVD which is reasonable enough. Plus they were in my shape magazine not too long ago. I love Shape Magazine.
The cool thing is that they do have a 30-day money back guarantee a great thing if you decide you don't like their exercise routine. I wouldn't use the money back for the purpose of not losing any weight in 30 days, however. Losing weight takes time and it isn't always the workout video that is the problem.
Like take me for instance. There are days when I don't feel like working out or eating right. Then there are days when I know if I don't eat better or I don't workout even just a little bit, my body is going to let me know! But, even working out just a little is absolutely worth it!

Diet Pills. Are They a Risk?
In the past when I still had a lot of baby fat to lose, I decided to try dieting pills. As a matter of fact it was a endorsed by a famous blond who is no longer with us today. The diet pills did not work.
Not everyone has probably experienced the same results as I have. For some maybe diet pills work. For me however, I won't be trying diet pills again. Since then I've just been eating healthier and walking a lot. I've cut back on the walking, but I still eat healthier than I have in the past.
I think it's just as easy to lose weight with proper nutrition and exercise. Control is another key. Eating healthy and exercising won't work if you're still eating in huge quantities. Also just eating healthier alone or exercise alone won't work either. You have to be willing to do both. I think it's why so many diets fail. And diet pills? Well, some of them now scare me. I've heard too many horror stories about heart failure due to diet pill ingredients or people taking too many at once.
But as I said, everyone's experience varies. So, what's your opinion on diet pills, exercise and eating healthy?

Fitness Goals and My Back.
My back isn't the only area I want to strengthen. I noticed last Friday that even walking has me out of breathe. While I am not overweight and in need of dieting aids, I think I could use a change in my diet as well.
I guess for some, dieting aids like pills can help, but I'm not one that likes to use pills to help me in my goals. I believe that losing weight and getting into shape naturally is the best way for your body to be healthy.
Not everyone will agree with me however, and for those that don't, doing your homework on the pros and cons of various diet pills is a must. There are too many risks out there associated with certain pills and your life isn't worth the risk of not knowing.
You need to know what the claims are behind the so-called best diet pills and whether or not they are really worth it. Do your research and be safe, please.
If a diet pill works for you and it's safe, then that's great. But, for me, I'd rather not take that risk. I'd rather get into shape naturally. What about you? Do you workout? What do you think of diet pills and other weight loss aids?

Taking a Walk
At least it's peaceful and quiet right now.lol My son has been playing video games and watching movies constantly for the past several days. Getting out of the house did him some good. He was asking me about watching a movie when he got back and I'm holding him off for a while.lol I like the peace and quiet.
Besides, when the hubby gets home their going to be playing video games all night long anyway. The silence is so very nice.

Something I Wrote
She had no time to lose and the roads didn't look as icy as they had first seemed. After a few miles down the road she glanced at the time. Damn. She only had 20 minutes to make it to the airport. She pressed on the gas pedal again, laughing to herself as she passed the little old couple in the sunny yellow station wagon. What a color!
After another couple of miles she realized she wasn't going to make it on time if she didn't put the pedal to the metal. Pressing on the gas pedal once more, she increased her speed to 70 and breathed a sigh of relief. Ha! Who were they fooling. Blizzards were nothing! Beaming, Lisa just knew she was going to make it on time! But just as quickly as she had basked in her successfulness, a strong gust of wind pushed the car into the oncoming traffic.
Panicking, Lisa jerked at the wheel to force the car back in her lane, but the wind was stronger and winning. She jerked harder until finally the car swerved back into her lane, but not before grazing the side of the cement barrier. Lisa stared at the passenger side mirror and cringed at the Camry's trim. It had been torn to bits by the barrier. The damage could not be undone. A horn honked and Lisa nearly jumped as the little old couple in the sunny yellow station wagon waved as they passed by. Damn. She had just lost. Lisa looked up at her instructor and winced.
"It was wondrous that you weren't driving a real car and this wasn't a real storm. Otherwise you and anyone else on the road wouldn't be here today." He frowned. "You failed the test Miss Thomas. You will have to repeat the driving course." Swallowing her pride, Lisa nodded in reply and sank down in her chair. Her mother would not be happy with the news. It would be a very long walk home.
